TurbochargedOne
A little background first... A friend at work bought a 2001 Banshee new in '01. This was the only time I rode the quad; in completely stock form. It was qucik (as we all know) and in no way scared me. The only mod he did to it was install nerf bars. He had it for about 6 months when it took a flying leap off of the trailer he used to tow it with after a day of riding. It got pretty beat up from the tumble off the trailer. All the plastic got chewed up, couple rims bent, bent bars, tweaked frame... After a month or so, the 'shee was like new. He had fixed it to stock factory condition (except the plastic). He decided the bike was too much for him and traded it with another guy at work for a 4 stroke dirtbike. The new owner had the usual mods performed on the quad... ProCircut Platinum series pipes, ProDesign air filter and outerwear, V-Force reeds, properly jetted, +2 rear axles, stainless brake lines, Works Performance shocks front and rear, Lone Star Racing front suspension and Renthal bars. Today, I bought the bike and brought it home. I rode it for the very first time with all the new mods done. My GOD how different this bike feels compared to stock! It is a totally different monster than what it was. Now, mind you, I have gone in the single digits in the 1/4 mile (in a race car, not bike) and am in no way bothered by a vehicle that accelerates quickly, but this thing scared the crap outta me when the power came on. The bars literally came outta my hands. I never expected such basic mods to make such a difference. This quad reminds me very much of my turbo Buicks. Quick in stock form, but down-right EVIL with very basic mods. Long Live 2-troke Power! Edited September 15, 2004 by TurbochargedOne

TurbochargedOne
I'll have pics by the weekend. They're gonna be pretty useless though, as i'm going to paint it custom colors. I'm an auto body painter by trade and just can't leave well enough alone...engine OR paint. FORMULASPEED
Congrats on your shee You said It is a totally different monster than what it was I had the opposite experience this past week. I got off my banshee <mods listed below> And hopped on my friends total stock shee except for a toomey 2-1 filter. I was coming up to a hair pin right ,and almost clipped a tree on the left, because that power wasnt there. All the mods in the world won't amount to a hill of beans if the tune isn't there.

I misread what you typed. I thought you said you nearly hit a tree on YOUR quad, not your friends. My mistake.
