Meat Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I'm still leaning towards a long rod motor for the torque. I think a stroker would be better for torque. The long rod motors don't add a single horse, they just spread out the powerband a tad and increase engine reliablility by decreasing the rod angle and putting less side loads on the piston skirts. The longer rods are used alot with stroker motors, cause the stroker crank will increase the side loads on the pistons skirt, the long rods balance this back out, improving reliabilty over a short rod stroker crank. increasing compression is one better way to build torque.
