Recommended Posts

you didnt have any idea about whats been going on in iraq for the past 20 years

screw Iraq and screw the Kurds, If they're not Americans or if I can't see em from backyard then I don't give a shit about what has happend there..... for the past 20 years. Thats the problem with our govt, we can't stay out of anyone business. I was 100% all for going to Afganastan and kickin' ass there because thats where our threat was. I don't know how we got sidetracked with this Iraq war...... but Osama and 5 million Osama Jr's are still out there and they're more pissed off at us than EVER. Brooke, do you have any plans to join the military and go to Iraq or is that for the pe'on working class only ?

BTW its been over 3 years since 9-11 and we still havent brought the man responsible(bin laden) to justice.

Ok, so I understand your reasoning that the "resume list" is a big lie written by the evil liberals.

Lets just pick out a few key resume points one at a time and please help me to understand the conspiracy\lies.

I rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant.

im not even gonna waste my time. you keep on believing whatever you want, or hey, maybe try...thinking for yourself for once. try stepping back and looking at things more rationally, dont be so quick to jump on the bandwagon. you dont have to like bush, but you also dont have to blindly believe whatever negative is said about him. i at least give kerry the benefit of rational thinking, i dont believe all the right-wing extremist propaganda spread about him.

but like i said, you go ahead and believe whatever you want, nothing i say is going to change your mind, just like nothing i say would change bigwills mind or holymans mind. you all crave this propaganda like its your lifeline.

The united nations voted against the pre-emtive strike on Iraq by USA led forces. We sent Colin Powell to address the UN and they still didn't see it our way. So against the UN majority vote, against the institution we played a major part in conceiving, the institution that supposedly governs the civilized world, we invaded Iraq. Where have I been misled here ?

this time im really off to bed.... its been fun chattin'. keep it clean... till tomorrow

Meat hit the nail on the head. Why should you worry about what's going on in the neighbors basement? Mind your own business.

As I see it, Brooke and KGL are arm chair warriors. We this and we that and propaganda this and propaganda that. If it means so much to you, get up off your butt's and sign up. Go to a third world country. Witness the bloodshed. Maybe you'll get your chance to be shot at or grenaded or you may even get to kill some people. Then come back and tell us how you helped the world be safer. The 9-11 attacks did not lead to bankruptcies, American greed leads to bankruptcies. I know because I deal with them all the time.

I also know that there is immense poverty, lack of education, and starvation IN THIS COUNTRY. There are thousands of murders and sexual assaults in this country. I have kept a close watch on the situations around the world and know that the US is not in Iraq to help the Iraqi's. There are similar atrocities occurring all over the world. Why are the Iraqi's so important right now?

Brooke I'm going to assign you a field trip and from Maine it should be do-able.

Go to the Holocaust museum in DC and then go to the Arlington cemetary and look at the acres of grave markers and then go to the deep south in the US and see the people STILL living in tin shacks with no running water and then go to a third world country and see the people living in tin shacks with no running water. And you should realize your vote or your opinion means absolutely NOTHING. People suffer every day in this country as much as they do all over the world. Why should the billions of tax dollars be spent repairing what's over there when it is needed right here at home.

Most of the crazy leaders in the world could have been stopped much earlier if there were earlier milder interventions including Hitler, Saddam, Bin Laden etc. But I still have no confidence that this country's leaders whoever they turn out to be, will bring a lasting peace in the middle east or even here at home for that matter.

Go to the Holocaust museum in DC

Take your own damned advise Holyman.

Nobody wanted to deal with Hitler, had somebody, such as France, decided to man up instead of just sit idly by because he isn't "bothering" us. Than maybe France wouldn't have been overtaken, and maybe JUST FRIGGIN MAYBE that Holocaust museum wouldn't be standing right now because Hitler would have been stopped WAAAAY earlier. And who ended up comign in and saving everyones ass anyway? We stayed out of WW2 because it was a european thing, didn't bother us. WRONG AND AN IGNORANT FUCKING MISTAKE. Had Hitler finished taking europe, and Japan/Germany taken Russia. Who would be left but the good 'ol US of A to try and stop damn near 2 entire continents of invading forces. Is it our fault the UN is blind to the lessons learned in history? The UN is useless, just as the WTO is useless, and the old UN. I can't think of the first "UN" thing that was going on, but it fell apart, just as this should. And with France as a vetoing power was it any wonder they didn't want to fight? The UN made the resolutions, than made more, than made more, than said if anymore are broke serious consequences will be enforced, than decided that more paperwork is what that meant, nothing more.

9/11 didn't lead to bankruptcies? Yeah tell American Airlines, or TWA, or most any other airline for that matter. Not to mention is was so perfectly timed or flat out perfectly lucky that it struck while we were still down from the dotcom bubble that burst. But wtf do I know, guess Enron and Worldcom were because of Bush being in office and not Clinton.

Your alway going to have homeless people, some people just are flat out too lazy to work, they want a free ride and they feed on people with all this pity for them.

Oh and stop spending money on foreign countries? Yeah and you talk about ruining international relations. Do you realize how quickly relations would suffer if we stopped spending millions on countries?

As I see it, Brooke and KGL are arm chair warriors.
So what does that make you?

If it means so much to you, get up off your butt's and sign up

I was signing up, had the pen in my hand than another job dropped into my lap. Personally either one of the job Fireman or a member of our Military, would suit me just fine. And if your wondering I was going for Combat Medic with a few friends from school. ~5-6 of us, me and a female as medics, 1 as a tank gunner, and the other guys as engineers, and one friend 2 years younger than me went to be a cook, and to this day says he hasn't cooked a single meal because hes been out no the lines. Well guess what meat all of them are alive except for 1, and I have his name on my chest, check the tattoo topic under images. I saw the guy that went as a cook last month while on leave. snuck him into the bar had a drink with him went down on the floor and got him a chick. Morale of the story, I planned on getting into the military even before the war, and as it stands right now I WOULD SIGNUP if I lost my job, but righ tnow food and clothing for my newborn and fiancee are higher priorities than what I feel like doing.

You honestly think the United Nations knows anything? Did you know that the United Nations is also trying to pass a world tax? They want to tax world commerce and transportation so that they can give the tax revenue to 3rd world countries, the same countries that budget a higher percentage towards weapons than we do. Great use of our money, fixes so many things here. Also do some research on the oil for food program and tell me if the UN has unbiased motives.

I've been to both, I urge you to go see the real version of the holocaust (the camps in Germany) not the historical production holocaust museum. The camps give you an erie feeling just being there I can't believe anybody who visits them could ever say we should just take care of our own country. As for Arlington when I went there it made me think of all the heroes that made the choice to fight for our country and gave everything they had including the ultimate sacrifice not people who were "collateral damage" from some regime.

Holyman your posts are preaching to the ignorant.

I have been to both the museum and Arlington and I have seen what happened in Europe in WW2 and I have had many family members who fought in that war. I even had an uncle {recently passed} who was sunk by a Japanese zero fighter. I have worked at the VA hospital near the Great Lakes Naval base and seen all the guys who are still living in Viet Nam who are locked up like animals because they decided to go to war. And because of that I will not go.

Fireman... in spite of what you say, you are doing exactly what I said you should do. You HAVE made the decision I have made... Take care of things at home. If this countries security is on shaky ground then you would leave your grilfriend and your baby and go over and fight with your friends. As it is right now, you and I are in the same boat... taking care of things at home.

And like I said before... the problems with Hitler could have been solved long before he came into rule and started his rampages which cost this and the rest of the world immense losses.

Don't get me wrong!!! the ultimate sacrifice a person can make is their life. And every one of those markers mean a precious life that was lost, every one of those shoes in the museum is a life that was lost, your tatoo represents a life that was lost. And when I see that there were tens of thousands of lives lost during WW2 and we as a group are all sitting here on our computers made in Japan and in a forum celebrating our Japanese bikes that we use to entertain ourselves with, it equates to me a collossal loss of life for nothing. All of the people that I know who fought in any war, have seen nothing but corruption and wanton disregard for life on both sides of the battle.

And while Brooke and KGL and Fireman sit there and tell me that I should shut my mouth because there are people dying around the world I say this to you... If they didn't die for the freedom of ALL speech then why are they there at all. You claim that the people of Iraq are now able to speak their minds but apparently you want them to have a mind like yours because you cannot even tolerate your fellow American when he says something you dislike. I would rather ride a horse, catch my own food, and sleep in a tent than see one more life lost. People in power all over the world are corrupt and Bush and his cronies are no different. I listened to his speech the other day and his casual disregard for the man who was decapitated was disgusting. This was a man who DIED not just something distasteful to see on TV.

You can have faith in the leaders you elect and you can wait 20 years for them to correct the problems they create. I will have no part in it. And you and your parents who voted them into office must also bear the responsibility for their failure. Kinda hurts when someone puts the burden on you for the regime in place whether the leaders listen to you or not. But hey that what has happened since WW1 which paved the way for Hitler to make his way into power.

OH well, sit there in your arm chair, look at your computer and support the troops. I'm sure that while they're getting shot at and killed they will think of you and how you supported them from the sidelines.

BTW how is that support coming along... you buy a new God Bless America sticker for your Hyundai or tie a fresh yellow ribbon made in Taiwan around the tree in your front yard? Or did you do all that you could 3.5 years ago when you punched that hole in the ballot?

You can rant and rave all you want about me not voting but at least I'm honest enough to tell it the way it is and I'm still standing by what I said.
