I was really hoping someone could explain my quotes of John Kerry above. If someone can give me a good moral reason not a political reason as to why his positions now make sense with what was quoted. I think you would deserve the award of Banshee HQ Supreme Master Debater.

I work with voltages over 480v on steel erection

jobsites and I would propose that, on daily average, my job is perhaps

more dangerous than yours.

 

I walk and work around 3000* heat checking extinguishers, Yesterday I was up in an area with high lead levels I had to get all suited up for, today I'll be in an area thats probably 150* with dust and metal particles flying around and electrical lances that drop into the steel ladels. All it takes is one drop of water for it to explode out.

 

Dangerous? eh I wouldn't think so, thats why there are saftey regulations in place. Same on your job site. The difference is when a fire actually breaks out so much shit can go wrong, you iterally have to break regulations to fight a fire internally.

 

NFPA requires 2 in and 2 out on a fire call, well we barely have enough to have 1 in and 1 out.

 

 

However, I agree with

St Clark and Meat that perhaps your debating skills really aren't as honed

as you would like to believe. I also think it is weak of you to try to bolster

your personal opinionated position by frequently citing your aliance with certain other people who are posting similar but more effective arguments than yours.

 

You, Meat, Stclark none on you have answered my question from almost 10 posts back. You say Holymans debating skills are great, yet can you tell me where he stands on anything? Dont vote because your vote doesnt count? We went to Iraq for oil? Haliburton doesn't deserve government contracts?

KGL, what banshee04le said was the point i was making. i was not trying to argue with fireman-hott about the oil in iraq, ect. that subject simply means nothing to me. what i was saying is that i dont believe (in my opinion) that fireman-hott is the great debater like he seems to think. in my opinion again, i believe the cussing and name calling towards holyman was disrespectful. theres no point in disrespecting someone just because they dont agree with you. people have their own views on everything. doesnt necessarily mean that one party is right or the other party is wrong. and yes, i agree with holyman on some things and there might be some things i disagree with, but im going to keep those things private for the fact that i dont feel the need to talk about it. but for someone to get that mad, on a banshee forum when we are all supposed to be helping each other in many situations, is just rediculas.

WOW... Alot of things said while I was "hitting the snooze button".

Just to re-cap my views so the interested parties don't have to re-read 7 pages.

1- Voting is worthless because your vote does not translate into any sort of power. If throwing your vote into a box helps you sleep at night, then do it. Otherwise it is a complete waste of time.

2- The choice between the lesser of 2 evils is not a choice I'm willing to make. So I choose not to select.

3- There are currently no delegates that meet MY standards for president so I will not choose between them.

4- The current president is an idiot and so are the other delegates.

5- The current president is a liar. His right hand man explained that there are no dubyuh immm deeez. If that's a lie the lil geo needs to grow a set and take care of his business at home. Either way, one of them is lying.

6- We do not need to rely on foreign oil and there are ways to reduce or eliminate the need for foreign oil within a matter of a few years and boost the economy doing it.

7- The US is the major buyer of the exports of 2 of the 3 "Axis of evil" nations and #2 of the 3rd "Axis" nation.

8- By not funding the terrorists, there would be more money to spend here at home on security and job creation and there would be less money for the terrorists to fund their causes.

9- Halliburton is sucking millions of dollars out of this country's already weak economy to enrich the presidents buddies to rebuild the oil resources of a terrorist nation which is good for the president and his portfolio.

10- Those millions of dollars should be used in this country to rebuild hurricane damage and provide safe jobs for the hundreds of thousands of people out of work in THIS COUNTRY.

11- English should be spoken by everyone in this country, including the president. And the dictionary should not be a blacklisted book because it contains the word regime.

12- Lil geo IS the head of a regime no matter how big of a knot that puts in your skivvies.

 

Now to prove my point about a vote being worthless... there was a very rousing speech pasted into page 6 about the country being asleep since 1979 and that both democrat and republican have been hitting the snooze button since that time.

You may be right. But those leaders were ELECTED OFFICIALS by the majority of the people at that time and still they blew it {at least according to your opinion}. The people of that time may have been 100% behind the elected leader or maybe they chose the lesser of 2 evils or maybe they voted against him. Whatever the case the snooze button was pushed by the idiot in charge. And all those that felt that he was missing the mark were either sore losers or "didn't respect the president". Sounds kind of like today. The list conspicuously didn't include Reagan and Big Bush who apparently also hit the snooze button. Just in case you voted for some of those, you are equally responsible for hitting the snooze button because YOU VOTED THE IDIOT INTO OFFICE. Imagine for a moment that you were dissatisfied with your leader that you voted into office. Are you going to call him up and explain that you don't approve of his handling the country? Obviously not. You could spend the rest of your natural life trying and failing to express your concerns to this man and when it's all said and done, good or bad, his years in office are limited and even his power expires after a time.

Yes security is a good thing. I don't believe that anyone {myself included} should kick the door down to someones house that lives in another state because he has a grudge against me. But I would lock the doors at night. And I certainly wouldn't be paying 40% of his income every year. And yes I would rather walk to where I had to go than buy gas from him. I'd rather take that 40% and hire a guard to watch the house than send someone over to his house to fight him in the street in his neighborhood where he has an advantage. I also feel that spying is a real form of intelligence and not the kind of retarded intelligence that this country has been buying on eBay.
