Blown top on end .50, now what?

Hey - I just pulled my top end apart to diagnose a coolant problem and it turns out that it is time for new pistons. I already have .50 over (like that when I bought it) and since there apparently are no pistons larger than .50, what are my options?

Do I just buy new cylinder jugs and start over or can I do something else?

Thanks,

Tom

Yessir. Wiseco, and other manufacturers make pistons oversize to fit your application. I would go up to .060" over, (if that will clean up any scoring that may be in the walls) and put new pistons, rings, and upper rod bearings in there.... Good as new.... Take the cylinders to a machine shop, and let them tell you if another .010" out of them will clean them up...... If so, .060" is the answer.....

Who told you that you couldn't get any larger pistons? The stealership? If it was I'd stop going to them and find someone who knows what they're talking about.

Go with some wiseco's and get the kit it comes with a complete top end kit. Get it ported while you have those cylinders off too
