J-Madd
I'm going from K&N/no lid to dual K&Ns. Assuming my jetting is perfect now, what adjusments do I need to make. (I'm sure a cool head w/20 cc domes won't affect jetting..but I'm gonna run 100 octane AV Gas)

J-Madd
What you running now for pilot/main/needle?? Just wondering I don't have any idea. I'm running what the factory put in my PWKs. I gave them my mods, and they jetted them. Plugs have always been tan. I still haven't put the clamp-ons on. On another note, the cool head rocks!! And 100LL rocks. I like to sit in my garage and let it idle for the smell. The plugs are more of a gray color now--is that common with 100LL? It also sounds like its hitting a rev limiter in 1st and 2nd only. It didn't do this the first few times I rode it, but it does now. Is there still a rev limiter with TORS unplugged? Could this be pinging? It runs great if I shift before it starts cutting out. Edited September 16, 2004 by J-Madd
hamuel
there is still a rev limiter so to speak it's the cdi box. isnt't a 20cc dome with +4 timing a bit much for 100ll fuel?. from what i remeber reading with a 21cc dome and +4 you want to be atlest running 101octance. so wouldn't yah want the full 110 race fuel? just a question for someone to answer. Are the plugs wet or dry?

Are the plugs wet or dry? I found the prob: when i finally installed my clamp ons, my left carb boot was loose at the cylinder. I also moved my needle clip one notch richer. (It was all the way lean [up]). It had 155 mains in 30mm PWKs, I put some 160s in it (all I had) and test rode it a little ways and the "cutting out" in 1st and second stopped. Plugs were dry (and gray) by the way. And Dave at Noss heads said the 100LL would be ok with 20cc, I trust him. He said 19cc with +4 timing would be pushing it with 100ll. Could have been the loose boot, jetting, or combination of both. HOWEVER...my headlights quit during my test ride (posted in repairs and mod forum). I've been told its the voltage regulator. This next bit of info is in the wrong forum but I have to mention it: After my lights blew, I left the motor running [its pitch black outside, no moon, etc] and my plugs were glowing blue at the chrome bases. Blue flashes (not sparks) were flying out of the plug wires into other wires, even my hands as I touched the wires. I couldn't even feel it. It knocked my ass off when I touched the plugs, though. I've touched running plugs before and not got shocked. Looked like something out of a movie. Sorry for the long, pointless post. Nah it was the blue wire to my voltage regulator. I assume I was gettin' too many volts through the plug wires when the wire came unplugged.
