Wheatchex
Once again two more people die riding an atv because they weren't wearing helmets, were riding on a road at night, and were riding double. Unfortunately this type of behavior gives the majority of ATVers a black eye and gives the anti-atv crowd more amunition for banning ATV's. Here's the story: Fatal ATV accident investigated Tuesday, September 7, 2004 SUGAR CREEK TWP.

kenr74
At least those dumbass people won't be having dumbass kids now. Between people like that and the people who go out and trash our riding areas we won't have anywhere to ride soon.
Nightrider
Amen to that Ken,I am a resident of Ohio and it just pisses me off to see stupidity like that. It just makes every atver look like irresponsible reckless idiots. All this does is set ATV riders back further and further. We hardly have anyplace left to legally ride in Ohio and actions like this only encourage Anti-atv advocates to completely do away wih what we have left. I love this sport, but stupidity will be the death of it.I experienced the death of trikes firsthand,I don't want to see this happen to quads too.BE RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE.IF YOU LOVE THIS SPORT THEN DO YOUR PART TO KEEP IT ALIVE...and if your gonna act like an idiot,go do it in another state. nickxc
At least those dumbass people won't be having dumbass kids now Wow, Thats kinda harsh... Of course riding a quad without a helmet is stupid but these people where just killed. Im kinda bumed about it not anry.... around here it is so uncommon to see someone riding without a helmet that it is totally frouned apon and virtually no one does it. but when I was out in maine me and my buddys went riding with some locals and when we where putting on our helmets they where like "what are you doing we never wear helmets out here" We rode with about 15 people and we where the only 3 with helmets but being from NY it seemed so weird without one on,so we just kept wearing them anyway. and it was a good idea. It sucks that his gives the anti atv queers another step up but is also sucks that these people just lost their lives... What a bummer!!! kenr74
Well, I guess you could say it is harsh. I just look at it and think that it is part of evolution. Stupid people die all the time. Just cleaning up the gene pool.
loganskinner
yea that is kindof harsh, but its true. most people dont feel they should wear helmets on 4x4 quads, and thats stupid. hell 50 mph is 50 mph.
Dirpmp2000
They are really stupid for not wearing a helmet, I always wear a helmet for even the littlest things like driving to the neighbors or some thing likke that
03limitededition
What I think is interesting is how the general public puts motorcycle/Atv accidents under a microscope when stupidity runs rampant in all forms of recreation. What about the jackass who dives in a shallow pool or golfs in an electrical storm, or........ well, you get the idea.

They're nutz and have respect for their talent, but alot of freestyle teams dont wear their protective gear anymore. tree shooter
Im not trying to get a war against me going or anything. But if your over 18 in Oregon you are allowed to choose to wear a helmet or not. I for one choose not to. Not because i think its the cool thing to do or anything, i just love the feeling of being on the open dunes, with the sun on my face, and im very confedent in my riding ablities. ive been on dirtbikes and quads since i was 4. Im not saying im the best rider ever, but i can handle myself pretty well. Ive heard it a million times to wear your helmet and i know its the best thing to do, but i choose to make my own decison, and maybe it will catch up to me sooner or later, but i guess thats a chance im taking. And by no means am i sticking up for people riding without a helmet, i dont mean that at all. Its very unfortunate what happend to those kids and my prayers go out to their familes. 2Smoker
I don't really care what anyone says, when you are riding a piped shee down through the woods at 2am in the morning with a dozen beer into you, you really want to be wearing a helmet. I have had alot of accidents (almost all non-alcohol related) and everytime I always hit my head some way or another. Motorcycles, dirtbikes, 4 wheelers, snowmobiles, my helmet has honestly saved my life. I have a friend that hit a tree and cracked his helmet right in two. It's common sense, just put the goodamn thing on, and don't expect me to feel sorry for you when you kill yourself and you're not wearing a helmet. You won't see me shed any tears. People should know better.
