Recommended Posts

leave the carbs in direct sunlight for an hour or so after you put wd40 on the screws

a flameless heat gun works best, just dont have any fuel in them, hold the heat gun way back so you cant light them up and just make them hot enough so that you can still touch them so you dont fry any rubber or plastic bits

if you do end up breaking the heads off it is probably a job for your local machine shop to drill them out

if you strip the thread in the holes in the carby you can buy a rethreader kit by RECOIL or something similar and drill, tap the holes to suit.

DISCLAIMER:

thats what i recon, but if you f*ck them dont blame me!!

lol

Take a Dremel or a small die-grinder and cut a slot in the head so that you can use a straight screwdriver to get the screw out. Then take those phillips head screws and throw them as far as you can, and then go to the hardware store and get allen cap screws to replace them.

the screews on my 04 grizzly carbs were tighter than hell, I wanted to kick some guy on the assembly line in the scrotum for tightening them so tight. I ended up getting a small set of easy-outs at sears, and just back them out and replacing them with some allen head screws. Good luck
