rear banshee wheels

Recommended Posts

i was wondering something. i was reading through a thread and found that some people flip their rear wheels to get a wider stance like they do with the front. but with my rear wheels i cant do it with out making the wheel base smaller. when the air valve is on the out side where it should be to fill the tire with air, thats the widest wheel base i have. if i flip them so the valve stem is on the inside i loose at least 2" of wheel base.

my question is. i have a 99 banshee, do i have the stock rims on there or did they change the wheel desing on different years? thanks

the offset on the rear wheels are diff then the front.. the inside of the valve stem side of the wheel is deeper that is why it is wider stock then if you reverse them...and wheel base is from front to back....you are want a wider stance...most all rear wheels will be wider if they are on the right way and not on backwards...most stock front wheels will be wider if you reverse them cus stock wheels are made to protect the brakes and shit...if mounted right ....

on most stock yamahas you can reverse the stock wheels to get a wider stance. its easiest to do with the rear wheels because you wont have to put in a new valve stem. on the front wheels if you flip them the valve stem will hit on your beaks you you have to fix that. on your rear wheels you can flip them and the valve stem will be on the inside, i believe it give you an extra couple inches dont remember if its +2 or +4 if it doesnt work for you then you probly dont have stock wheels

If putting the valve stem on the inside doesn't give you a wider wheelbase youre running aftermarket rims for sure. Probably ITP deep dish rims or something. Which isnt bad. This is what a stock rim looks like
