harley_sr
Ok with the clutch and all what is a good oil to use in the crank case on a banshee? I was looking into some AMSOIL, the dealer told me its for a wet clutch set up, its a full synthetic. What do most of yall use?
nater006
ATF type F in mine.. works great! That full synthetic stuff.. just watch out for it. I'd heard a while ago that if it has friction modifiers in it it can cause your clutch to slip easier. Though I'm running synthetic Amsoil 10w30 (I think..hehe) in my modded CBR900RR and never had the clutch slip on it so... don't know how much truth there is to it. a&sbanshee
only disadvantage to running atf fluid is u have to change it pretty often but it does work great and is cheap, but if u dont wanna bother with having to change it often i would reccomend 85 weight bel-ray gear saver its what we run in all our drag bikes and we have never had a problem with it yet and we run about 6 months or better with out changing the gear oil and when we do change it the oil always looks brand new just about hardly any color change at all
nater006
Yah.. I change mine every other ride at the latest. It does a good job. I just get whatever type F the local places carry... its usually Castrol or Quaker State. Nothing super special but it works fine
sredish
Another "which is better" thread. All the oil, pipes, tires subjects have been beat into the ground, so a search might be your goldmine. In case your wondering, I use Silkolene Comp Gear in my crankcase. I like it a lot, and the name Silkolene is cool!
ledofthezep
On my stocker I just ran Valvoline 10w30....now with my dirtdigger I'm running 80w Belray Gearsaver. No complaints...
23champ
Belray Gearsaver in all my bikes, I swear by it. Good shit
rebelbanshee2
Ive tried ATF and golden spectro 85w and have settled on.....tractor hydraulic transmision oil....shifts slicker than ATF and lasts twice as long costs 8 bucks for 2 gallons too. Holyman got me on this
BdBanshee
I also use the type F ATF in my tranny, works great. Haven't tried the tractor stuff, sounds interesting.
