How would this work? we need some ideas. Maybe a petition wouldnt work, but what about a letter to the legislators of NY for some state trails? But the sad thing is that every complains about no where to ride but nobody does anything about it. For example I live on LI and there isn't any place to ride except one moto cross track that is design for advanced motor cylce use. So anyway time comes for the county to decide if there should be a task force to decide if there should be a place to ride. Now you would think some people would show up to voice there opinions, right becuase they feel so upset becasue of they money they spend on registration and so on. But guess what out of all the people on LI who ride on 6 showed up. WOW what a showing, this is the stuff that pisses me off. If all the atv rides banned together we could get a race track around the state capital. There is alot of power in governemtt if you have a lot of people with a lot of voting power. That's where we are screwed there are more people who can ban together to be against us then there are people who will be active in finding a place to ride. white trash Posted August 26, 2004 Report Share Posted August 26, 2004 I'm not from New York, but here in Illinois the riding sucks really bad to. The thing that gets me the most is, they bitch and whine when people ride illegally, well make a few places where we can go, and i'd be willing to bet most of it would stop. They stick us in the ass with the registration money we pay that is supposed to be used on trails and such, but they use it for other "more important" things. When someone buys land and tries to get a atv park set up the county complains about the noise, enviromental damage etc. and turns down the grant, or doesnt allow the proper zoning. So what, at least it would be more contained. I mean a park being say... 200 acres, or riding cornfields throughout the entire county / state.
