Screamin_Banshee
.... Other than that, over-ride tranny, PVL , lock up clutch, alcohol, and alky domes will be needed to extract everything you currently have. Putting it to the ground will be your next problem....JIm I think im in trouble in that area this weekend. My set-up was dead on last year with a stock motor...im gonna need alot more paddles than I have now Edited August 25, 2004 by Screamin_Banshee
oldbanshee
How much more hp does the 12 port stroker put out over one of your more agressive (but still reliable) 350 motors?
Nighty
I was wondering about the power difference between a 12 port and a normal (8 port? ) portjob. For a non stroker 350.
jinx44
My stroker turned 72 HP, 40ft/lbs and then locked a crank bearing up the first race off the dyno. I think if I play with a few of the things me a Jim have disscussed, 75 shouldn't be a problem.
BakoBanshee
U say a few passes, but I am willing to bet those few passes are goin to be a blast! If I end up keeping this thing, I will have another set of cyl's done when then new set-up is complete. Tryin to see how fast you can make a 350? I wanna go after the 350 record, but sheesh, its into the 3's now. Keep me posted on this motor? So who built this record 350 bike and what all is done to it? Bladesbanshee
Is 72HP out of a stroker engine really that great of a number? That seems a bit low to me.
super88_banshee
how many horsepower could i expect just from dropping in a crank?
broke
Is 72HP out of a stroker engine really that great of a number? That seems a bit low to me. 72 HP out of motor that lasts for years is a great number to me. Building a pipey hand grenade that makes 100+ hp that only lasts 10 minutes isn't really that impressive to me. And after all that it really comes down to what the HP and torques curves look like. I like to rate engines in the actual area under the graph rather than the highest point of it. I beleive that the 72 HP motor is a TT motor, not a drag port. I didn't mean to jump down anyones throat, but some get too wrapped up in the numbers alone. broke (aka jaggoff....)
rebelbanshee2
and as mentioned every dyno is different. That same 72 hp bike could be 80 on another
97redshee
my 4 mm duner port cpi inframes did this.my builder has had bikes from another shop with dyno sheets that read 90+ rwhp and on his they make mid 70's.
Blue Duece
I think that 75-80 number is close give or take a few hp for jims motor, I had my trinity mx ported shee dyno at 66hp and its weak, ive never dynoed my passion bike but to me the 70-80 is irrelevant its where the first 35 ponies are, and on jims motor their right off an idle.... Oilsmoke
Did you really ask that question? Man there are more dyno's is Socal than the rest of the Us. Get the Phone book out and Look.
ledofthezep
I had my bike dynoed by Kevin Helt in Wichita. He didn't charge alot. I think it cost me $35 to make about 5 runs. And then missed your last race.
