rocket pipes vs. stock

Recommended Posts

i dont think anyone has any dyno charts of rocket pipes yet. of course they are gonna produce more power than stock pipes, but i dont know how well on a stock engine. they really need a lot of air flow. an aftermarket intake set up may not be enough. some crazy ass port job maybe what you need to get the most out of a set of rockets. if you wanna mainly stay with yourstock engine id go with a set of t5's. they work very well with stock engines and respond even better with porting.

I agree. With most drag pipes, you'll need a lot of flow. A set of T5's will probably be a much better suitor with a pretty much stock setup.

My experience with Rockets on a stock port motor is that compared to stock pipes you will actually still have decent bottom end, a bit more power on bottom, a hell of a lot more mid, and a whole shit load more top. I didn't have any complaints power wise switching from FMF's to Rockets.

While I cant speak from personal experience (since it wasnt my shee) I will add my 2 cents here

Trailsallday has a STOCK banshee.. carbs, porting, head ect. The only other mods he has are Delta reed cages, and 4 deg advance timing. From what I saw there was a huge improvement. I would have to say he gained some (not a ton) of low end and gobs more mid to top power. I dont know what kind of riding you will do mostly. But these will make a huge improvement over stock.

As for Trails bike... Throttle response was right there and seemed to pull very well. Ask him... Im sure he will tell you how happy he is
