BansheeBoy08
OK, I am ithnking of getting a Banshee. My Foreman is Big&slow and I want something FAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTT. I am 15 years old and am 5'7" and weigh 155 pounds. I have been riding 4wheelers and 3wheelers since i was about 4 or 5 years old, so i have experience. I have to pay for all of this 4wheeler, so the Banshee I get will be used, prolly like a 1995. Right when I get it, I want to put some mods on it. I am tihnking toomey t-5's and I want to rebuild the top-end on it. what would be a good size to bore-out the cylinder to keep it semi-reliable?? Thanks, and sry bout the long post, Danny
sredish
what would be a good size to bore-out the cylinder to keep it semi-reliable?? as small as possible. 10 over is plenty unless you have scuff marks to get rid of. boring does nothing for performance so there is no need to bigger for extra power. just go as small as possible and this will ensure that you will have room for future top ends as well. nater006
The Toomey T5 is a good pipe.. they really scream, and are a great compliment to a heavily modified engine. Though, some people like the Fattys better.. some like the CPIs.. etc. The Toomey T6 is a good pipe too, if you plan on very minor engine mods. Better than the T5 in that capacity. As for the boring... see what its at now. If it just needs a clean-up job, you may be able to get by with .010 over what you're at now.. otherwise, .020 over what you're at now. All depends on the current bore's condition and size. Something to keep an eye out for if you get a used one is whether the crank has been welded or not. If it hasn't, well, you'll want/need to get that done before long as it will probably grenade eventually. If you're tearing the top end down anyway, crack the cases and get the crank worked. Or, buy one with it already done.
2Smoker
I would just check out the pistons and cylinders before you bore it out. they may be fine. In that case put new rings in just to be on the safe side and buy a clymer manual and take care of it and itll last you a long time. Its when you neglect to clean the carbs or something when youll lose a piston. If you really want to rebuild the top end and start fresh (i dont blame you), if you go with wiseco pistons i think they go in increments of .20 thousands of an inch. Wiseco makes a piston kit which includes everything you need EXCEPT WRIST PIN BEARINGS!!!! So you may want to put in new wrist pin bearings too, and the kit is pretty affordable. Get a good shop to bore it out and you should be all set. If you pipe it youll want to mod the airbox and put a jet kit in and run a bigger main. You will be like then then youll love it! good luck
