QuAdRaCeR^775
Today I took off my airbox lid, and rode a bit my bike now pulls hard and wheelies into high 4/5th gear. I was concerned wether or not I was running too lean, I checked the plugs and they are gray color, and the banshee is barely smoking if at all. What do you guys think? Should I need to rejet? sredish
Pipes smoking or not has nothing to do with it. As far as the plug color, where are you taking this reading from? You want the base ring to have a dark dark brown borderline black color. You also want to have a ring of the same color down at the base of the porcelain, you might have to cut away the threads to see it, hence the name plug chop. For more info, check out the Banshee HQ FAQ section.
QuAdRaCeR^775
Well the tip of the plug is grey, and the base ring is a dry brown/black.
sredish
Your probably pretty good. you can't go off of the tip of the porcelain for a plug reading. I personally like some color there as well, but it's not the place to be looking unless your checking for detonation. if your base ring is dry brown/black, then it sounds ok. United Pot Smoker
if your taking the lid off your not gonna protect from dirt and water. so my question to you is, why is the stock air box still on? do you like the looks, you like how it holds your reserve coolent? sredish
Well, you do still get more protection than with clamp ons, that's for sure. I have the back 2 inches cut off for added airflow and I can hit some big water and no probs.
00BANSHEE
Make sure you remember that your airbox lid holds the stock filter in place. Just letting you know incase you didn't.
