Low end bog

Recommended Posts

list of mods in sig.

I'm totally lost now... Heres the deal the past 3 weekends I have had this 1 problem that is haunted me.

It's a low end bog like it getting fuel dumped but, it kind of clears up on the upper rpm range. So, I thought it was the carb/pilot/air screw.. I have adjusted from 38 clear to a 52 on the pilot.. still the same..So, I had a buddy who had another 33mm pwk so I tried that..And, The same damn thing.

So, I try getting a new stator"200w" Ricky Stator and same thing, So, I figure ignition..Maybe MSD acting up..So,I put the factory back on and the same thing.

Then, maybe Reeds.Nope reeds r good not cracked or opened.. v-forceII two months old

It runs decent "not to its potential" when cold but, when it warms up and U nail the throttle, its falls on its face start popping like its "lean" and spuettering...

Air filter is K&n clean/in box no lid...

Carb is 33mm keihin pwk 42pilot/180main/needle 4th clip/air screw 2 turns out

elevation 600

no tors

Sorry for the long post..If I missed anything, tell me and I'll try and get u the right info..

thanks guys

Sup bro. Don't get in here for a long time and when you need something, you hop right back in huh? j/k. How's it been goin? You need to come up and ride with us sometime.

I'm wondering what your compression is? It's not starting, your using carb cleaner to get her started and she is lean, popping and falls flat in the low range. How "well" does it run at full throttle up in the rpm range? And, will it start if you hold the throttle wide open while kicking?

damn! sorry to hear that and glad that the "news" isn't any worse. hope you've come out alright.

yep. that's a weird situation you got there. trying the other carb and all. my first inclination, of course, is jetting but you seemed to have covered that. but if you have to use carb spray, that still tells me the fuel isn't getting into the chamber or the compression is too weak for proper combustion. your compression is good, better than mine. :shootself: so, i was asking about your top end because I was wondering if you were having a petcock/filter/float issue.

i'll have to think about it.

it'll start fine w/my new carb now "bought it from buddy"....

but, it won't idle...but, same situation When its warm U nail the gas it falls right on its face..to much Gas/ but

acts like it's lean on the pilot popping/sputtering

it was lean w/38 then all the way to a 52 then the plugs look black&wet so I went backwards to a 50 and adjust the airscrew...

same....Same thats when I started looking in the other direction other than the carb..but, all indications point to the carb.."does that sound right" banghead

I getting pissed at her right now...

Yeah...I'd check for leaks too...try even on the gas....if it's like a pinhole or something small it may have to 'suck' it pretty good. Also,...not wanting to sound like Captain Obvious...but have you checked your plug wire caps for good connection...may try unscrewing the cap, clip the wires just a whoofer hair and re-screw the caps on. If it's mis-firing you may get some popping & bog. Dunno...hang in there, you'll get it figured out. B)
