347cid
whats up..... i just picked up an 04 LE the other day, and i already have the mod bug. for now, i am looking into getting an exhaust set-up, and getting rid of the airbox for a 2 into 1 intake. Im from norcal, so i will be doin a combination of thrashing through the mountians, and shreddin through the sand. so, pretty much i am looking for an all-around combo to get me started. thanks in advance rob

sredish
FMF Fatties I agree with. Great all around pipe. I can lug her in the trails some and then just hit it and be goooone. They are also great in the sand. As far as air intake, get the Toomey 2 into 1 setup. Great flow and a nice setup.

decon
On a dyno I saw on planetsand, t6's did perform the worst out of all the pipes tested with an agressive play ported 350. Numbers were as follows, the t6's made 68 hp, t5's made 71, fatties made 72, cpi's made 72.5, and shearers made 73. The problem with the t6's is that the don't rev out like the other pipes and they sign off really quick. The fatties signed out 1000rpm later than the t6's and they actually made the most torque out of all the other pipes. T5's revved out a tad longer than the fatties did but they didn't make enough torque to take advatage of the extra 400rpm they pulled over the fatties. Cpi's and the shearers revved out well over 10,000rpm and they put out a smooth torque curve from about 7000rpm up. Cpi's peaked at around 10,500 while the shearers pulled an extra thousand rpm on the cpi's. I'll post a link to the dyno tomorrow. You have to sign up on planetsand to view the dyno though. looks like when I get my banshee ima get some fatties. i do mostly trail and dirt riding, and sand from time to time and it seems like the fatties out preform the t5's. locogato11283
stay away from t6's if you want toomeys go with t5's. they work great with stock engines and really shine with ported ones. i have no experiecne with fmf pipes but i hear they work really well too. Ducman
Where in norcal? I'm near Redding. I was in the same boat almost a year ago. I went with the Gnarlies, somewhat similar to the Fatties, tad more low end a little less top. I switched to Rocket inframe drag pipes for better top end, especially in the sand and I am very pleased with the top end increase and didn't loose enough bottom end to bother me at all (got the noss head too which helps out bottom end torq). the power comes on smooth too. The only downsides are the pipes are a bit bulky and will make riding with shorts a bit risky and you have to trim the fenders which actually looks pretty cool. Also require sparkies for spark arrestor riding areas. I went with the air filter adapter plate and foam filter, air box lid off, but wish I would have went with and might still get the toomey 2 into 1. If you are interested in the FMF Gnarlies (best trail pipes made IMO) I will give you a smokin deal on the Gnarlies with trubine core silencers (built in spark arrestors, sounds the same as powercore) (pipes and silencers look brand new, I can put a mirror polish on the silencers if want too) sorry for the spam everybody.
