A guess for jetting?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I am a little nervous about putting my shee back together because I dont want to blow it.

I am getting a trail/dune port. Here is what else I have:

v force reeds

k&n clamp ons (no airbox)

+4 degree timing

toomey t5's

Now I ran stock needle, stock pilot, and a 280 main.

The guy that is doing the porting says to run a 310 main with stock pilot and needle. What do you guys think?

To me it sounds like it would be a little lean, but I am not that good at telling how big of a jet I need.

Also how long do I have to run it before I can do a wot check since I have new pistons etc.?

Any advice would help so I can get an idea of what to put in it.

Thanks.

I think you may want some larger carbs for you motor.I have a feeling a dune port needs to breath a little more.If that's what the builder told you than that's the way it should be but with dual k&n's and Vforce reeds with his porting on just stock pilots, I find that a bit profound.

Your builder should know and I'd start there. I'd run it for a good 8-12 hours and do a wot test....2 tank fulls...
