Mod Banshee
Over The winter I am going to put in a +4 Stroker Crank in my Shee. And I was wondering if I should get it bored 40 Over? And should I get the Vitos Crank or the Wiseco Crank?
racer
i dont think you can go wrong with a wiseco. as for the bore job, is it needed? you might want to do it anyways because your crank will most likely be a 5mm longrod setup as well. this requires the use of wiseco 795 series pistons. and we all know you should bore for some new pistons. Mod Banshee
Does the Wiseco +4 Stroker crank come with a Stroker Plate?
XTShee
The vitos crank is a Wiseco. I think you have to get the plate seperate, its all on there site http://www.vitosperformance.net/ Edited August 19, 2004 by XTShee
rebelbanshee2
your current port is not going to work well with the stroker crank. Id get the porting adjusted for the longer stroke
JPL-ATV
Vito's 4mm Stroker crank is NOT made by Wiseco, and Wiseco cranks are NOT made by Vito. I would go with the Wiseco H129 stroker crank. Why? Because it's better. It comes from the factory Trued and Welded. It has the +5mm long rods which lessen the rod angle and extend engine life. It's macked by a multi-million dollar, multi national company with a great reputation. Rebuild parts are available through virtually every Cycle dealer in the USA. Depending on your porting specs, you would require either a spacer under the cylinders, or on top. If you'd like to know which to use, PM me or e-mail me at gunner@jpl-atv.com and I'll help you figure it out. Oh, and, No, the Wiseco doesn't come with the spacer plate, because Wiseeco gives you a CHOICE. Cheers! zilladude
Wiseco sells a custom(thicker) base gasket for the stroker crank. It is sold as a complete top-end kit P/N W6093
racer
i think thats because you have the choice to buy their stroker piston. its the 842 series pistons. in the catalog (the physical one) it is page 67. its labeled as a Racers Choice - Long Rod Stroker Piston Kit. Mod Banshee
The Racer's Choice Long rod Piston kit is a 64.5 and STD is 64. If I want to run the Racer's Choice long Rod Piston kit do I have to have it bored?
Mod Banshee
will Part #w6093 Top end gasket kit work with a Cool Head?
racer
my cat. shows them to available in sizes: 64mm, 64.25, 64.5, 65, 65.5 all with a 54mm stroke. about the gaskets i wouldnt get it if you can opt out of it. since the cool head uses it own seals (the o-rings) the only one you will need is the base gasket, two base gaskets if you use a plate. maybe some reed gaskets as well, but i dont think those are included in the topend gasket kit. bbluebanshee
To run stock pistons, not the 795 series, take your domes in to a machine shop and get 2 mm cut out. This will give you the same compression without using a stroker plate. But as for the port, I agree with rebel banshee. You will not realize the full gains that are capable without a "port to the crank" i made the same mistake, and have to tear my motor down again this winter and have the cylinders re-done. I was getting blown away by modded raptors..camkit, pipe, high comp piston. I should have been blowing him away, but with the port job i got, i am only running about 60% power.
