Doodle
I've been looking on ebay trying to find a set of pipes to get me by. I don't really care if their real shiny or not, but I've seen some that have small dents or dings in them. My question is can this make a significant difference in performance of the pipe. I've had people tell me that it really screws up the geometry and flow of the exhaust and will rob performance. Just wondering before I go and buy a set. frocashmoney24
nope, really dont make much, if any diffrence in performance, if you want, fillher up withwater and put it in the freezer, keep and eye on it and it'll pop the dents out

Cotton eyed Joe
It would to some point affect the performance. The volume of the expansion chamber facillitates in the scavenging process that brings fuel into the cylinders (by Bernouli's Principle). It would have to be a pretty big ding to notice any performace loss though. With the cones, they reflect the sound pressure back to the header and this is what stuffs the air-fuel that leaks out a little with the exhaust back into the combustion chamber. From what I know, those cones are somewhat focused so they reflect in the right direction, but again, I think it would take a pretty serious ding to start messing with shit. I have a nasty knee "imprint" on my right T-5 from my wreck. So far both sides look to run the same. I've tried heating it, then pressurizing the pipe, but only about 1/8" came out. Nice little flat spot right in the belly.
sredish
fillher up withwater and put it in the freezer, keep and eye on it and it'll pop the dents out You could always cap one end then blow in the other. that works from time to time. frocashmoney24
that works good, but how do u block it off from all the pressure, and what amout do you use?
banshee boy 98
the freezing trick works you just need to plug both ends of the pipes. go to the hardware store and get some expandable plugs to fit the pipes. keep an eye on the pipes dont freeze them to long .
