stevo3176
I didn't look at the frame but I got the number off the engine case 3gg-188641. I don't have clymers that identifies this number. Thanks!

stevo3176
Thanks for helping with the 8 silver frames, MAYBE that is why I gave the engine code but really thanks for your insight. I just want someone with a new, 2001 and up clymers to look and see what year this is. I know my 87-95 clymers had the engine code numbers but this number is not there so I think it is newer. Or if you don't have a clymers you could look at the engine code on your bike if you know the year. If your number is near this number 188641 then it could help me narrow it down. NugShee
Sorry If we cant help you out any . If you could tell us the color of the stock plastics then I could tell you a year. Also the VIN on the engine wont tell us anything, what you need is the VIN off of the Frame. These are the years for the frame VIN. Hope this helps you out a little, Mike 1987..........................2GU-000101 1988..........................2GU-030101 1989..........................3GC-000101 1990..........................3GC-010101or 3GC-024101 1991..........................3GC-025101 1992..........................3GC-036101 1993..........................JV42GGAO*PA049101 1994..........................JY43GGAO*RA059101 1995..........................3GC-096101 1996..........................3GC-082101 1997..........................JY33GGAO*VA111026 1998..........................JY43GGAO*VA111026 1999..........................5FK2
stevo3176
Im Having trouble distinguishing all the letters on the vin also they don't seem to match any of the ones listed. There is a sticker on the frame however that I can read. It says 5FK6-010. Im not sure if that helps. When I get the vin I'll post that. N1q
The year is the tenth letter/number of the VIN 1988 = J 89 = K 90 = L 91 = M 92 = N 93 = P 94 = R 95 = S 96 = T 97 = V 98 = W 99 = X 2000 = Y 2001 = 1 2002 = 2 2003 =
NugShee
What VIN are you going by. All vin numbers off of the frame only have 9 digits. Are you going by the motor?
stevo3176
The tenth letter is Y so I guess it is a 2000. Banshee's vin on the frame has 18 digits from what I remember. The bizarre thing that is throwing me for a loop is that the CDI is the older style it has 2GU-51 on it and it also has the older style plugs. Also the stator also has the older style plugs. That is why I wanted to make sure it was a 2000 or so banshee.

banshee#14
I don't think you can tell the year from the engine, mines an 01 and it's 3GG-212189
