iceman
Are in frame drag pipes just as good as out of frame drag pipes? Are the out of frame pipes just for looks or do they actually perform better than in frames? Also, whats the deal with rocket pipes? Are they better than normal pipes? sredish
Are in frame drag pipes just as good as out of frame drag pipes? Are the out of frame pipes just for looks or do they actually perform better than in frames? Also, whats the deal with rocket pipes? Are they better than normal pipes? the expansion chamber can be bigger out-frames than in-frames, due to the size restrictions around the frame. Due to this, out-frames are supposed to make a little more power due to the bigger size capability. I don't have a lot of experience with drag pipes, but that's about as much as you can get from me on that. Rocket pipes are supposed to have a great mid to top power curve and rev out totally awesome. I've heard they're similar to CPIs in the power curve but it comes on a little sooner/lower and revs out a little better. Supposed to be freakin awesome pipes, and I don't believe you could go wrong with them.

iceman
Yeah she looks awesome and so do the pipes but hows the performance? Do they add much even if you had a stock engine? Edited August 15, 2004 by iceman
locogato11283
Yeah she looks awesome and so do the pipes but hows the performance? Do they add much even if you had a stock engine? performance is great. i have the passion 4 mill stroker 12 port and they kick ass with that engine set up. personally if you are running a stock engine id stay away from the big pipes. big pipes generally need big time air flow to really get the most out of them. if you dont plan on porting then go with some t5's. i ran them before and they work sweet with ported engines. try and plan ahead, itll save you a lot of money in the future. you plan on porting anytime soon?
