dnhyoung
I was talking with a guy about my banshee explaining that It had a 4mm longrod kit in it when I bought it. He was then asking me if the cylinders had been machined down to get the full benefit of the 4mm londerods with the blaster pistons. He said that the cylinders should be machined down about 40 thousandths ( can't remember the decimal equvalent) off of the bottom to achieve the full stroke of the piston and that it would probably bump up my compression by about 15-20 LBS. Is this correct, has anyone heard of this. I need to have some engine work done since I blew a hole in the top of my left piston, and I would like to atleast sound Like I know what I am talking about. any info would be greatly appreciated... PassionRE
If its simply a long rod crank, its 5mm not 4...are you positive its not a stroker crank? Either way, run Wiseco's 795 series pistons, not blaster pistons, and DONT deck either the top or bottom of the cylinder. Terminology wise, a 4mm long rod IS a stroker crank...Jim Edited August 14, 2004 by PassionRE
