sheerider11
Ive been pondering about gettin a cool head probly a pro design one is it really worth all $250? does it give u more horse power for the money?
jadaven
The Pro design head is aight. I Have one on my shee. It adds compression if you change the dome size, but with that you may have to switch to race gas. Noss makes a good head too, I dont have one (sorry dude) but everyone that has one here says there good. Im sure someone will come on with better info than me. Good luck on decision

nickxc
Ive heard good things about the nos head also. In my experience... if you are over heating cause you ride in hot weather than the cooling effect of an aftermarket head (noss, prodesign, etc...) would be worth it to ya. or if you are racing and constantly tuning for the best power and want the ability to just switch domes for different conditions or tracks. or if you wanna run race fuel sometimes and then switch back to pump gas you can run higher compression when you wanna run race fuel and then switch domes when you wanna run pump gas. I was thinking of getting an aftermarket head cause I was blowing head gaskets but I just found out I had a slight warp to my head and I think that was causeing my head gaskets to blow so Im shaving a little more off it and throwing it back on. back to your question. If you are only looking for a little more compression and still wanna run pump gas but want a little more hp. just have your stock head shaved .030 or .035 or .040. somewhere in there is usually the norm. You will get the benefits of more compression for $35 rather than $250... hope this helps.
frocashmoney24
screw pro design, get a NOSS machine head. they are awesome, they add power, help alot with cooling, and make ur shee look good as they come in a number of colors, pm dlnoss on here, he's the owner, his names david and he's great to work with, plus he gives bhqr's a discount! decon
is this the ideal chart of the different dome sizes for the NOSS machine head? 16cc-17cc alcohol 18cc-19cc racing fuel of 110 octane or better 20cc-21cc regular unleaded fuel
oldturtle
Another option to consider is to have the stock head shaved and domed. Patriot Racing will do this for $85 for whatever volume combustion chamber you want. I had mine domed for 21cc and shaved so that I can safely run pump gas. Once in a while the stock heads come out with uneven volumes resulting in uneven compression even after fresh top end job. The $85 job will give same balanced compression as aftermarket head but you cannot easily change compression and they don't look as good for sure. sredish
cool head.....worth it? Yes, it is very well worth it. Also dlnoss (owner of Noss and Noss heads) gives discounts to BHQ members and it's the same thing, but comes in sweet colors.

fixitrod
You have to remember that the dome size is only one consideration. There is squish, dome angle, squish size, etc... It's a science that somebody that designs heads knows how to deal with. Dave at Noss Machine is that guy. He's making one for my stroker.
