my clients are incredibly happy.... they get my full attention on their project

thats what built my biz, i havent ever spent a dime advertizing.......when the new g-5 laptops hit you'll probally need to get one, ya know for going to clients and showing them how there project is coming along, you might need to lease a nice car as well, hell once yer rolling the list dont stop of neat shit you can right off your taxes.......oh and not to change the topic Kerry even looks like he's a polesmoker

I've made my Banshee my display. All the parts on it are for sale, they just happen to be displayed on my bike. Its my business card, and my advertising all in one. I can write off/have the company pay for, any dune trip now as advertising, or a business trip if I happen to sell something, or show something to someone that has an interest in my parts. Of course I have to have money in the account in order to do that, but it option is still there.

When I buy my enclosed trailer, the same thing. Its going to have the company logo on the side, and it will have parts for sale inside of it.

<_<

My wife says its kind of shifty (shes getting her bachelors of accounting in november) but its all legal and no one will say a thing if I keep it somewhat low key. 22" dubs won't be on a company vehicle unless they come out of my personal pocket. $4000 in rims is considered excessive I think, unless my company is pulling in $250,000 per year.

the IRS doesnt start paying attention unless you start writing off home office expenses...home heating, electricity, etc etc. if you steer clear of that, you shouldnt have any problems with uncle sam, and the worst that would happen is an audit. dont forget to write off milage on your vehicle.

i allways write off any thing related to biz stan, rims are cool, when you do a schedule C theres a box you check if that vehicle was related to biz, you check that fucker and list everything, i write off limo rides to fetch clients, catered food, trips to discuss projects, i got audited once the agent came to my biz and saw first hand what i might have to do, and said all was cool, save receipts!!!

You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!! Get off your ass and get a job! Unemployment is at 6%! The economy bounced back after the TECH BUBBLE!

Clinton had the unemployment rate at an all time record low, around 2%. 6% is awful numbers, unemployment hasnt been so high since Bush SR was running the show. In the last 3 years, they've permantly layed off 50 or so people from my workplace, and now our biggest customer(pennsylvania house furniture) closed down 3 local plants and layed off 500+ people. All because we can't compete with China and economy has been stale for the past 4 years. Ask the Pittsburg steel workers what the think of Bush and our economy the past 4 years. With the country at war, historicaly the economy should be booming, whats gone wrong this time ??? What went wrong is faulty leadership by an enept president Bush and his war with Iraq. Does everyone know that Bush was the head of a Texas oil company and Cheney was the head of Haliburton just before he became VP, does everyone know that Haliburton has offices set up offshore so they can buy oil from Iran and dodge the US taxes. We can't have our country run by business men, especially ones in the oil business.

And the economy has not bounced back.

Dow Industrials were very close to touching 12,000 in January of 2000, today its at 10,000 and that number has been hangin around 10,000 for the past 4 years. What you say, the Dow is not a trustworthy indicator of the US economy ???

How bout the Nasdaq...... in January 2000 the Nasdaq hit 5000, today its 1800ish, and as little as last January it was around 1200..... and 1200 is 1994 levels. Oh what you say, the nasdaq is part of the tech bubble and its too narrowly focused.

Ok, lets look at the S&P500. Today 1090, 5 years ago 1600. Still not convinced ?

How bout the broadest market indicator out there, the Russsel 3000. Today at 615, 5 years ago it was at 900.

So lets just all agree that the economy has not bounced back quite yet. And yes I understand that 9\11 has a whole lot to blame for those numbers.

Thats the problem with you lazy people. You want to load bags of starch on to a truck, and then go home at 5 and jack off.

Now this is the line that fired me up. You have no idea who the person is who wrote the load bags of starch. So take your fuckin' "holier than tho" attitude and shove it way up your ass because you don't walk in his or my shoes everyday, you don't have the information necessary to call someone who loads trucks LAZY. And that offended the hell out me and it should offend everyone here who works hard for 40 hour a week doing manual labor or working for anyone. Calling someone lazy for loading trucks is offesive as hell and its just not right. Try waltzing up to the next loading dock you see and call the men working there lazy if your so sure that its a bum job.

I liked this thread because of the good debate on the upcoming election, there's good arguments to both sides, but I get angry when a fellow forum member gets shit upon. I just got home from working a 14 hour shift, you still gonna call me\us lazy because I dont have 3 mil in the bank? The fact is, different people have different priorities in life. Now you can accept that fact, or you cant state your opinion....... but in my "book" your opinion stinks. :headbang:

Im done with this lets get back on topic please.

Meat where did that quote come from? who said that? i havent read this whole thread, i tried to stay away from it as long as possible, because everyone knows as soon as i start talking politics, i make enemies quick.

in my opinion, no one who works 40 hrs a week can be called lazy, whether youre loading trucks or sitting behind a desk. thats a horrible thing to say.

thank you for answering me

i dont have any problem with anyone who works. i just have a problem with people who feel like the government owes them something, or people who take unemployment when they could go get another job, or people who take welfare that dont deserve it. people that look down on the wealthy, and people who look down on the blue collar workers bug me. if you work, youre aces with me, but as soon as you start bitching about shit other than normal workplace icantstandsoandso, and bitch about people who make more money than you, or less money than you, or take unemployment instead of getting another job for the next six months, or go on welfare just cause you decided to have too many kids than you can afford...that shit bugs me.

QUOTE (PUSH THE THROTTLE @ Aug 19 2004, 11:40 AM)

This week I have already done my part to support the economy by buying a frame from yamaha, arms from Quicksand and shocks from Elka

CHA CHING....  Three chears for Push....thats what im talking about.....

Agreed !!! Buy American products even tho Elka is a Canadian company atleast its not China or Tiawan.

How bout this business idea. MadeInAmerica-Mart to compete with Wal-mart\China-mart. Every product in MadeInAmerica-Mart has to be made in the USA to be allowed in the store.

Brooky wrote....

The only thing I feel the govt owes me is....... to properly spend the money we pay in taxes. 80 billion dollars of our tax money is going towards rebuilding Iraq. Iraq, a country half way around the world that we leveled. On the other hand, most of that 80 billion will be put in back into American businesses. Haliburton being one big benificiary of my taxes.

How bout this tax bullshit proposed by Bush. MISSION TO MARS. We are at war with terrorists from all over the world, our nation debt is at record highs, our foreign policy is shameful, we're losing american jobs to China and the worlds sweatshops, prescription medication prices are out of control, unemployment is at 6%............................. and Bush want's to spend more taxes so we can get a man on Mars. I wish I knew the price number for his Mars Mission, but its in the billions. That is how out of touch our president is. You don't hear much about the Mars Mission anymore and I think the pres was told to keep that low in his priority list. The govt' takes .25 cents out of every dollar I earn.... so we can go to Mars.

Lets spend our taxes on getting those "evil do'ers" that are imminite threats to the USA. Iraq shoulda been on the list, but way way below Osama Bin Laden and North Korea. If we're going after Iraq, then we should go after Cuba next and then onto China which is another communist\dictatorship run country.

we did go after osama, and still are...

we have always had our hand on the pulse of north korea, its a very volitile situation...

but sadaam is the one who was killing his own people, and sadaam was the one hosting terrorists with links to osama, and sadaam is the one who has repeatedly bullied the pansy UN

we are capable of doing more than one thing at a time, we have been, and still are.

i still dont understand this selfish attitude people have about helping iraq. why are we so bad for helping them? we are fine here in america, we are much better off than the iraqis. as the world power that we are, we have a duty to help the little guy in need.

im also for space missions, i think spending money on science is ALWAYS a good thing.

and what about this tax "bullshit" bush is proposing? elaborate.
