iceman
I'm getting a new all black helmet. Does anyone know if you can get them air brushed or do they have to be white? I see all these crazy air brush designs and they look pretty awesome. I just wanted to know if the helmet has to be white to get them air brushed. And if black ones can get done could I send it to someone, or do I have to bring it to a shop or what? Does anyone here do helmets? bansheefreak
i do not do helmets but i know that they can airbrush anything you want on any color .. the black is ok if you want black as your base color if you want a diff color then the black would be lil harder to cover but it can be done.... so look around local papers or phone book for airbrushing and getr dun... better have some serious cash thou..... iceman
Yeah I'm pretty sure I have a hook up (friend says so). I've seen it on a couple websites for like 800 bucks though. Maybe I'll just get some stickers. Stickers are cheap.

iceman
Yeah I might just get one of those TLD Decal sets. They are pretty sick. NEW POLL: Should I get a fin on my helmet? Which stickers should I get? Does anyone think fins are cool? I think they look pretty cool. IF You know a fin that would look cool on this helmet then tell me. Heres the helmet: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWN%3AIT TLD Stickers: http://www.troyleedesigns.com/goodies/helmet_stickers.htm I don't think the rebel flag sticker set would work very well with a fin. If you guys know of any other helmet decal sets or anything let me know. Thanks. Oh yeah I'm taking that retarded sea doo sticker off. Because its retarded. loganskinner
i do airbrush work, i do it cheap too. i did my friend's helmet for free, made it grey, with rips in it that you could see 1" yamaha signs in, and then i painted "yamaha" across the back, i spent many hours working on that, and then like 2 weeks later he traded in the raptor for a damn suzuki z400, and bought a new helmet. that bastard. if i can post a pic of the truck i worked on i will. Mr.Giggles
Here's one for you.
banshee370
I've been meaning to reply to this for some time.... but keep forgetting As for a black helmet...... Getting black isnt bad if you want a darker based design. Anything can be done but less work is involved if you want something brighter w/ a white based helmet. One thing you should know is that NO helmet manufacturers want their helmets painted. The solvents in most paint systems can and will soften the integrity of the helmet. When you mention price and being cheap, you will get what you pay for in the end. Any high quality painter will charge accordingly. There are many reasons why custom paintjobs are so expensive. Quality products are not cheap, as with the time involved to properly prep the job for paint. Then the over all time to design and transfer the artwork to the helmet/car/truck/bike/ect. Life expectancy will also vary.. When getting a "cheap" job someone will have to short cut something somewhere, Be it product or procedures, but in the end you will have a job that will not last anywhere near what it should. To me, I refuse to cut corners and quote a job cheap, just to get it. I do painting from time to time, just right now I have too many projects going on. Thanks for the link Meat_Head... It's appreciated.
iceman
I agree. That's why I am thinking of just going with stickers. I just asked him because he said he did it for cheap. And I wanted to know what cheap was. If I can't get a good deal I am going to go with the stickers because I don't want some crap job. The stickers look pretty cool. I just wanted to see if anyone in the forums did customs for cheap. I'll probably go with the stickers. Dunno which ones to get though. What do you guys think? http://www.troyleedesigns.com/goodies/helmet_stickers.htm I like that rebel flag kit but I dunno if it would look very good with a fin if I end up buying one. What do you guys think.
iceman
I think I might go with the rebel flag set. It's pretty bad ass since I am a redneck southerner I dunno how good it would look with a fin though. What do you guys think?
banshee370
After thinking about my reply I wanted to state that by NO MEANS was I trying to insult loganskinner or cut down his work/abilities. My reply was directed to iceman and his thougths about wanting something "cheap"
