Toomey Banshee
Ok, I posted last week of my problem with my 99 shee. I started it up and crank oil was coming from the exhaust clamp on the throttle side and dripping on the engine. Then I pulled the carbs and there is crank oil in both carbs. I went ahead and pulled the jugs, they were both in great shape as were the pistons, I was surprised as this is the stock top end. I then pulled the motor and its sitting on my workbench. I'm gonna split the case today and order up the seals and gaskets I need tomorrow. Is there anything else this MAY be before I split the case in a few hours? Anything I can double check before I split this thing? Thanx.
frocashmoney24
nope def a bad gasket or seal, pick up a tube of yamabond for the cases, just take your time, check everything and you should be good, good luck
banshee04le
What frocash said. When you pull the stator and clutch covers you may be able to SEE a problem with one of the crank seals before you split the cases, but regardless, it's a case leak.
