MotulMonsta
Well that's what you get for not knowing what your doing...Did you install it right?
DirtRider
no i didnt ruin the shift star i just dont have it installed right. i looked at the climers but its not working right.
rebelbanshee2
i dought you could have messed up too..after all you used a good leathe and you didnt mess with nutral......seriously...is the shift shaft adjusted right, there is only one way to install the star on the drum..the climers goes over shiftshaft adjustment
BdBanshee
I agree with RebelBanshee2, if you haven't backcut neutral I doubt you messed it up. Probably didn't get the shift shaft centering screw adjusted correctly. BTW, if you read the pics it says that the .350" dimension is after modifying. FYI I think Boonman does this mod for around $
boonman
Something isn't installed corrctly. That's for damned sure. In the clymer manual, it details how to adjust it properly. Also, is it shifting, is it not disengaging? Is it a clutch problem, or a shifter problem? I doubt you could mess up the shift star without some serious misguided effort. And $50 is a ludicrous price. I can get you a brand new modded star for under that... Not just a mod... Man oh man..... How people survive without spending a few moments to lok around at different options.....
Meat
i ran the little tits on the leathe and took those things down. right theres the problem.... did you grind down the "arms" "lobes" on the star.... or did you grind down the little tits protruding out the side of the star ?? Maverick302
Does anyone have a printable template of a modified shift star? I'm splittin the cases over the weekend and I wanted to mess with it, i hate sloppy shifting.
