drgn_erth
also whats the deal with the "slow jets" that come with the carb? never heard of a slow jet
MotulMonsta
Slow jets are your pilot jets. They make a huge diffrence during off idle and 1/2 throttle. If I was you, I'd go out and buy a shit load of jets and start jetting that bitch. It's going to take some time to dial in. Right now I'd say your running rich off the bottom AKA your pilot may be too large and/ or your air screw isn't adjusted right...It's all a ballance and it'll take some time to get it right. sredish
Speaking of pilots, what size are you running? Low end = pilot or needle maybe, but not main jet.
Hockey390
let me know what you come up with for all your jetting.. i am running similar setup but havent had a chance to change jets!
drgn_erth
i put the clip on my needle on the very bottom groove and it runs pretty good it sputters a little mid throttle as for what size pilot its what ever was shipped with they sent a 50 and 55 pilot extra
triple B
i have the same set up run the needle inn the 3rd groove from the top and u should be fineand you sure u dont have a 33 carb 35 sounds a little big for a stock machine 35 is usally for big bores or moded engines
Hockey390
Trinity told me that I should only get the 35 if I was going to mod my engine.. They said that it would be very hard to jet the 35 if my engine was stock.
sredish
i put the clip on my needle on the very bottom groove and it runs pretty good it sputters a little mid throttle as for what size pilot its what ever was shipped with they sent a 50 and 55 pilot extra for the mid throttle sputter, back off your needle one clip and then raise your pilot to the 50, it probably has a 48 in it. See if that helps, hell, try the 55 too.
drgn_erth
for the mid throttle sputter, back off your needle one clip and then raise your pilot to the 50, it probably has a 48 in it. See if that helps, hell, try the 55 too. the stock pilot is a 52 i put the 55 in and tried it on the bottom, 2nd up and middle grooves. bottom and 2nd up are about the same (still a little sputter before the powerband kicks in) and the middle bogs a little on bottom. should i try a bigger pilot. it runs pretty well just want it the best it can get. sredish
let's try this. does your machine require the choke for a cold start? did it get better with the 55? the fact that it's bogging when you lean the needle tells me that it's wanting more fuel. I haven't really seen too many over 55 on the pilot, but I'd say throw the next size up and see what shee does, sounds like it might work. One thing that confuses me is you say sputter and then bog, those are two different things to me, but if it's getting worse as you lean then it makes me think more fuel. let us know.
