Gordon's Hell
Use the K&N filter cleaning kit or you can use simple green, let sit for about ten minutes then spray with water fron the inside of the filter out. Let dry & spray with filter oil. I do it every 3 or 4 rides.
Banshee~
Get a K&N service kit.Spray the outside of the K&N down with cleaner and let it sit for 15 mins then barrley turn the water on and wash it from the inside out and let it sit there and dry(dont use an air compressor to dry it just let it sit) then spray it down with the oil and let it dry for 20mins then go back and spray any white spots then let it dry. banshdog
How frequently you clean your filter depends on riding conditions. If conditions are dry and dusty you will need to clean more frequently than in damp/wet conditions. Sand doent dirty the filters hardly at all, but riding behind someone on a dry dusty trail will get you filter dirty extremely fast.
bansheeryder_69
I've found the easiest way to clean them is with a lot of gas. put some gas in a five gallon bucket then set the filter in there and go do the laundry or something and come back and you will have a whole new filter Haha Jk use the instructions in the K&N filter care kit wich is usually 10-15 dollars at the local checker auto store or the local dealrship.
