dogboystoy
Nick, I understand you feel like you were ripped off. But, You didnt check the axle before you installed it. Once you did notice that the axle was bent (as soon as you went for a ride), you didnt remove it and put your old one back in to do your riding. For those reasons, I do not think you deserve a refund. Also, Since the powder coating is now chipped because of the area that you ride in, I also feel that you do not deserve a refund. Now, if you had installed the axle. rode on it for a short time (<1Mile), immediately removed it and worked out a deal with Shelby, Then I would feel that you would deserve a refund. I know lots of people buy stuff from Walmart, Use it and then return it broken, but you cat do that here. (Im not saying that you bent the axle). I also, feel that it would be in your best intrests to fully check out you ATV, It is possible that something is out of whack besides the axle. Since your previous axle was bent, you dont know that something else is not messed up. Did you replace your bearings? Did you check the "new" axle with a straight edge, or anything that would tell you that the axle is bent?. Take it to a machine shop and have them spin it in a lathe. That shouldnt cost much (5-10$?) Good luck and I hope everything works out for both of you guys. Keep us posted
boonman
I live near Shelby, and although I haven't ever rode with him, I would for sure be on the lookout for an ass whoopin, had he crossed someone on the HQ. Howvere, I don't see that as the case. It is a short drive for me, and a long road for him. Not choosing sides, just need some more info here. I dunno, someone on here is right, and someone is wrong.... 2 sides to every story...

philshee
O.K. if I'm remembering right , you said that you replaced a bent axle , and the one you replaced it with was bent more than the the one you took off, and it took you three tanks of gas to find this out. Somehow I think that you should have noticed this problem right off the bat, and put your old axle back on if it was better than the one you replaced it with. I'm not taking sides, but I don't think you are intitled to a refund, based on the amount of time you put on the axle before you decided it was worse than the one you took off. nickxc
and it took you three tanks of gas to find this out no man I allready said this but I noticed the axle was bent right away I chose to ride on it because I dont do this kind of work often on my bike but It did take me like 2 hours to change it with my nose in a clymer and I wasn't about to do it twice just to ride. and since I thought I would never hear from shellbyzfan again I said to hell with it Im allready out the money. Take it to a machine shop and have them spin it in a lathe this is a great idea but I live in the boonies. The nearest machine shop is in watertown and thats 70 miles away. not a quick trip across town like for most people. if u say u sent three the third would be in ur sent folder youre right ya little bitch, I never thought about it but I checked my sent folder and it was in there. Check the dates boys Its exactly what I said it was. oh ya and hockeyfreak, ya know what they say only pussys start fights on the internet cause they know no one can hurt them so chill the f*ck out!!!! I spent 2 hours puttin it on today and its bent worse than the one I allready had. I swaped hubs to make sure it was the axle and then pulled both hubs and let the bike run on a stand and you could see it. It is bent right where the splines are for the right side hub. I wanna know if you'll take it back and give me my $$ so I can order a different one. Let me know Thanks, Nick--- On Wed 07/14, < WCRABSTER@aol.com > wrote:From: [mailto: WCRABSTER@aol.com]To: nickxc@excite.comDate: Wed, 14 Jul 2004 16:45:47 EDTSubject: Re: axle i have the shee ur buddy wanted to trade. the axle is fine, it just came off to p
ozstriker
this is just my 2 cents not saying that this is what he wants to do but he wants his money back before he sends the axle back a little fishing maybe wants to keep it and have his money back second if he wants to send it back that bad he should have to powder coat it back to the way it was : bent or not bent and last but not least i can't go buy and atv ride all summer on it and return it to the store you dammaged the powder coat and you rode 3tanks on it refund denied in my opinion
ledofthezep
you dammaged the powder coat and you rode 3tanks on it refund denied in my opinion Sorry, but I agree. Enough is enough though...either way neither of you are going to be happy from what I'm seeing. Edited July 28, 2004 by ledofthezep
nickxc
Im certainly not in this for the big $70 im gunna make. I dont need the cash I wanted my money back for the simple fact that I purchased junk and I would expect it back. However people are right I did use the axle for a couple days and dammaged the powder coat but I figured what good is powdercoat on a bent axle anyway. Its not worth it to have this junk axle recoated Its just going to the dump no matter who ends up with it. what I wanna know is what about this 3rd email. I produced it and now everyone has stopped talking about it. you said you only got 2 emails from me what about this one??? I never road on this axle till a couple days after I sent you this email and I figured you where never gunna respond. Thats why I rode on it, I thought I was out the money anyway. anyone??? Meat_Head
Its not worth it to have this junk axle recoated Its just going to the dump no matter who ends up with it. Thats not up to you to decide, you damaged the powdercoating so unless you get it coated back to the way it was you do not deserve to be refunded it is that simple. I never road on this axle till a couple days after I sent you this email and I figured you where never gunna respond. You had a couple of days to take the axle out and put your old one back on, it took you 2 hours to perform the original task and then couldnt find a couple more hours in the next few days to do it once again.Since according to you the axle was bent when you installed it, you had to take it off anyway so what was the point of using it... ozstriker
my 2 cents once again i realy think that this i turning into a mommy look what he didi bouhou kind of post you broke the axle more than what it was or wasn't nobody but you and shellby will ever know this for sure after reading the entire post a second time i still think that etheir some ungodly force bent the axle in the box or you did after you put it on or their is something else busted on your bike i would just suck it up get the axle repowder coated and hope you that shellby is still calme enough or nice enough to take it back but if i were him untill my axle was returned like i sent it you would be talking to a wall

knight_ripper
For all you first timers out there.....if you ever buy an axle...... Get on a really flat serface....like your kitchen floor......and roll the axle on it.... You WILL be able to see bends and wobbles.....if its bent....Dont install it! My question to Nick is......Why did it take so long for you to figure out it was bent? You should have been able to tell right when you installed it. Lifted tires and gas it.....wheels move.....axle spins.....you can see wobbles and bends without issues.....I check mine regularly. Good luck to you guys getting it "straight"....no pun intended.
