Klotz
what differences does a stock banshee carbs to a 33 pwk or any 33 make....is it worth the money to go with the 33 and what are all the differences.. thanks shane
ssbanshee
You get more air to your motor with bigger carbs. They are not gonna help much on a stock motor and will take away some low end but if you get some port work done they will complement it nicely. racer
on stroker motors its a must. other than that i think that the stockers are pretty damn good carbs for that motor, unless you have insane drag porting.
Ducman
on stroker motors its a must. other than that i think that the stockers are pretty damn good carbs for that motor, unless you have insane drag porting. Not necessarily. From results we've seen from banchetta's stroker and passions motor's I'd say yes bigger is better. But the 4 mil stroker I'm having built by shortys racing, they say will run optimum with a 28mm carb even with an aggressive dune port like I'm going for. They said with a full drag port on the 4 mil stroker bigger carbs would be better though. Shorty's racing does a tripple port on the exhaust side though, vs passions 12 port has the tripple port on the intake side so I think passions motors like to breath in a bit more air and fuel with the tripple port on the intake side, but with the tripple port on the exhaust side you get a better super charging effect because its able to ram more air into the cylinder on the exhaust side before the piston closes the exhaust port. I think the exhaust tripple port may make for a more efficient motor, but I cant say from experience yet, we shall see soon!
PassionRE
UNported, stay with the smaller carbs. On motors that have been modified, start looking around. Its been my experience that the stockers only work well with motors only having a very mild port job. Stockers in my opinion are junk. Nearly every engine I build requires larger carbs to gain the full potential of performance. But then again, "trail porting" represents about 1% of my business...Jim
InFlames
I agree with Jim 100% I tried the stock crap carbs on my passion ported 350 and couldnt get it to run very well (no where near its full potential) 2 other friends are having problems with them as well. I have just put some 34mm pj/s on there and the diff was amazing! I gained everywere...its not even dialed in yet and i had more kick from off idle to full throttle..nutt up tobigger carbs!!!!yes it is wort the money every modded shee should have bigger carbs. Even duncan racing uses them on all their track and moto shit its just better. 34mm on a 12 port pulls so hard its f'n unbelieveable.
