00BANSHEE
Overheating and backfiring is a sure sign of either an air leak or lean jetting. Might look into those two things first.
tweeded89
well the jetting is fine the mixture is a nice color on the plugs but where can the air leaks come from
frocashmoney24
from the filter down to the jugs, spray in some wd40
sredish
from the filter down to the jugs, spray in some wd40 most definitely the first place to look. if it's there, it will be between the carb and the cylinders. if it's on the airbox side of the carb, then the air will still be going through the carb and your jetting take care of it. like fro said, use some wd-40. i've been known to use anything from the little propane soldering gas, to carb cleaner, to ether. whatever you can find should work. and it will either speed up quite a bit or stall out. if the air leak is making you pretty lean then it will stall out. you can try spraying it onto the filter to get an idea of what kind of reaction your motor will have to it so you know what to expect.
