Muscle cars or Imports

Do you prefer the roar of a big-inch NA V8 or the mellow buzz of an import while taking corners?

Ford got screwed? Nobody got dicked anymore than MOPAr in nascar. If you remember correctly back in 1970 or 71 NASCAR made the winged cars illegal because they were stomping the shit out of everybody else. I certainally dont understand where you are coming from on that one jinx44. Thats just typical ford versus chevy talk there.Ford people always have an excuse... What was your excuse when ford lied about output on the cobra a few years back? Remember that? I guess the dynos werent calibrated right? Ford fanatics are all the same....

My point wasn't that the Cobra couldn't be beat, medium Mustang and dogging the mustang.

hey, i said TA or Camaro

damn right a blower on an LS-1 will rape a cobra ss camaros come with like 345hp stock 45 short of the cobra, a blower should add at least 100.

Even I thought it was funny about the overrating the "320HP" cobra.

Lets go back a couple years before Mopar "got screwed". 1963 to be exact when Ford released the 427 SOHC motor nicknamed the "Cammer". Since the 409 and whatever hemi Mopar ran then weren't anywhere close to turning the power of the overhead cammed ford, NASCAR added to the rule books that all engines must have a cam-in-block design. What i am saying is think about how much more awesome the musclecar era would have been if Ford could have ran with this. Ford could have built a better name for themselves in NASCAR which would have propted them to offer more performance cars in the late 60's. There would have been even more players on the field. Instead this was a big blow to Ford because all the time and money that it took to design the first overhead cam V-8 was now down the drain. As you know back then you had to drop the motor you were racing into production cars. Why should they keep trying to improve their engines if NASCAR could so easily change the rulebook and disqualify them. If you look at the history, Ford then started getting heavy into TransAm racing. TransAm racing was more overseas and not really centered around americans like NASCAR and it didn't make the impact in america like NASCAR did. It wasn't until the intoduction of the BOSS 429 when ford started designing motors again for NASCAR racing. By this time the musclecar era was coming to a close. While Ford was out of it, sharp looking cars from GM and Mopar had dominated sales the last few years. Us ford fans are left with the mustang and a few oversized cars such as the Cyclone and Torino's.

WHY SPEND 3 GRAND ON A CIVIC TO GET IN THE 13`S WHEN YOU CAN SPEND 3 GRAND ON AND LS1 (98-02 TRANS AM AND CAMAROS) AND BE IN THE LOW 11`S MAAYBE 10`S. MY LUG NUTS HAVE MORE TORQUE THAN ONE OF THOOSE FART CAN RICERS :D O I LIKE MUSCLE NEW AND OLD

there is not replacement for displacement.... i'll never get over the kind of car that sits up and begs when that long skinny pedal meets the carpet......... that's all i see around my way it seems is a bunch of imports with trash can exhausts, $1,000.00 in primered, bondoed, half-assed ground effects & every item you can buy with pep-dollars bolted, glued, cliped, or taped to them.... :shootself: not to mention a rear wing that would embarass a '69 plymouth roadrunner daytona.... to each their own i guess, i grew up watching smokey & the bandit, knight rider, the A-team, starsky & hutch, cannonball run, etc... so that's what i idolized, i guess if you grew up watching pokemon, the fast & ficticious, and biker boys (terrible movie) you'd be an import guy (i.e. little motor work, stick-ons, plug-in's, dress up's etc....) pretty boring watching 17-14 sec. turds slink down the track, but they pay admission too.... i think little cars are cool, but i'm kinda a "buy american save your own job type"...
