Jibrille
I'm a muscle car fan. A GTO Judge would be my Dad's dream car, mine would be a nice nova I think.
frocashmoney24
well im a car fan! i love the jaw dropping power of a nova standin on the rear wheels at a stoplight, or the curves of a stingray. But imports are my fortey. where else can you take a 15000 dollar car, bump in anouther 12000 to the equal price of a nice mustang, and have twice the power, way better handeling, and a car light as f*ck? jinx44
NOTHING beats a big block thumping so hard you can feel it in your chest when you are standing 20' from it. My major problem with imports is the kids that drive them have NO CLUE! They have never felt the pull torque from a healthy V-8. Otherwise they wouldn't put a shitty sounding exhaust on a stock 4 banger. Plus, they (90%) have no idea about anything under the hood. We all streetraced with old cars and trucks when I was in high school. Some of you might remember the pic of my 429 powered '68 longbed ford I posted a couple months ago. Anyway, after high school everyone was getting too fast for streetracing. Now 5 years later there are streetable Chevelles, camaros, mustangs, etc running 5.7 second 1/8 miles. Around here there is a race series called KOTS (King Of The Street). Everyone shows up at the track at a certain time, then the all make a 30 mile cruise in their drag car. Seeing 30 five second cars cruise through town is pretty cool. When they get back to the track, the race heads up. No times are given, just who has the fastest car. A couple times each summer my friends drive their drag cars up to the nearest city about 20 miles away from our little town. They would cruise the old strip that we hung out on back in school. When we would park to talk, 17 year olds in their civics sporting a 6" LED exhaust tips would pulled up and want to race. One would think the 8-71 Weiand sticking out of the hood of a 68 Camaro would make them think twice but they still kept coming. One guy with an Eclipse finally made a friend mad. He was going on about his $13,000 Eclipse motor and another $4000 in turbos on top of that. Well, that $17,000 was a waste of money when he went against my friends mustang with a nitrous huffing 514 stroker. My point is back in school, we always made sure we knew everything possible about the cars we went to race against. No one in town ran anything Mopar, but we all had researched them and knew what to look for and what to respect. Most import drivers don't have this respect. Holyman
Back in around 1986 I had the chance ot buy a car that looked just like this one with a worked hemi in it for $2600. That's right a hemi for just about what you'd pay for a beat banshee now days. I'm still kickin' myself for that blunder Within 6 months I saw the new owner turning down offers of over $10,000. Man kids can be stupid
roosthrower
Muscle all the way. I was at the 1/8th mile drag strip the other day, and I didn't see one import car there. It was great. I did see a grand national there though. I guess that car is somewhere in between rice and muscle. You can't get the front wheels off the ground if you are running front wheel drive. There is nothing worse than a front wheel drive burnout IMO. Modding an import is like modding a blaster. They can be made to be pretty quick, but they are no match for a larger displacement motor with the same amount of money put into them. bignasty1
even tho i drive a celica its not by my choice its more of a insurance issue. but someday i will have a mustang or sumthin sick as shit. preferebly a stang tho and i have yet to see one rice rocket from the factory under 30g's thats can beat a stang stock for stock. and mod for mod my money is still on the muscle f*ck a 4 banger unless ur drivin it to get to and fro as a gas saver or insurance companies ream you because of the rest of the teen nation being a bunch of dumb shit hot rodders in their way bad ass civics with a 18'' exhuast smashin their shit up stupid f@ggots. racer
you all keep talking about mustangs, but really they arent that fast. Im gonna take heat for this but the newer GT's (stock of course) dont stand a chance against an LT-1 or LS-1 powered TA or Camaro. It's off the subject but im deffinately not impressed with them. The older 5.0's on the other hand are cool as shit. Great musclecar bodies and with some 3 inch and flows and youve got one mean sounding vehicle. But i still dont see why everybody just had to have a GT at the HS i graduated from. People would buy the ugliest ones too! It didnt really matter though the Bowties owned that lot. OK, sorry for the pointless rant. And there is no replacement for displacement. Edited July 23, 2004 by therail

jinx44
Well, Ford is still selling every GT they can build so why put the effort out to make them that much faster? Also, you are comparing a GT (mid grade mustang) to a LS-1 TA (the fastest TA). Compare that LS-1 to the new 390 HP Cobra. Ford has built some trick shit, but is reluctant to because when they have in the past they got screwed. I still think if Ford wouldn't have got dicked in NASCAR since day one, GM wouldn't have ruled the musclecar era and wouldn't be the number one seller today. Just my 2 pennies. II STROKER
my dream car is a 67' chevelle ss. You can't deny the fact that technology on these four bangers are impresive with the right modifications, but there is nothing like the sound and power of the mighty v8. have you guys seen that "armor all" comercial with the charger with the blower racing i think a saleen race car, damn! that shit is beautiful. i love the way the blower kicks in and smokes it and all the sheet metal just blows off the saleen. classic! racer
no, im saying mid for mid. A Z-28 is mid cause there is the SS and a GT is mid cause there is the cobra. and whats a cobra cost? cause at $42,900 (round here anyways) a Z-06 will hand it its ass. and tell me more of this ford bein dicked by nascar, what happened there? yeah that car commercial is cool, but blowers dont spool or kick in, they are always spinning at an RPM that is direct relation to crank RPM cause they are linked by the belt. Of course some are underdriven or overdriven and what not. but it kinda gets on my nerves for it just to all of a sudden to just start working. maybe im just reallllly anal. Just my 2 pennies. you can put a s/c on an ls1 and that cobra is toast seen it so many times. Or you can just get a zo6 vette same motor as camaro and t/a just a little tweaking and the zo6 will spank the 03 cobra everytime. The 03 cobras are fast dont get me wrong but they ant bad i have killed many of them i just like n/a cars lot more to saying i run 11`s na than 11`s on the bottle or with a s/c. And if you think your gonna put a turbo on a ricer car and be fast ant gonna happen i just race a turbo neon on the bottle and spanked his ass in a stock ls1. jinx44
My point wasn't that the Cobra couldn't be beat, just that he was comparing the fastest Pontiac to the medium Mustang and dogging the mustang.
