Slayer1018
Hey, I had posted a thread awhile back on what to use to clean the air filter. Someone had recommended kerosine (local dealer) But what about the PJ1 or K and N filter cleaners? It seems easy, just spray and rinse. Also, what about that Toomey "2 in 1" kit that replaces the stock air box and connects to the stock carbs? Seems to me the air box would do a better job keeping dust and dirt out. I'm not really into making my Banshee go faster, its definetly kicking my ass enough as it is. Maybe next year heh heh! Any of you put skid plates? I'm a little concerned especially with the sprocket. My Banshee has been hoisted on a few rocks. There is some protection, I'm just not sure its enough. Your responses are appreciated! bigboybanshee
Depending on the riding you do depends on what kind of air filter you want to run...If you ride trails (assuming you do since you talked of going over rocks) you will want to keep your airbox and not go with the 2 into 1 filter. If you don't have a K & N filter already I highly suggest picking one up, along with some K & N cleaner. Real easy to use and a good investment. If you rode dunes I'd say go with the 2 into 1 filter, but as I said before, trail riders are better off with the airbox; just consider it like insurance for keeping water out... As far as skid plates go, they're a great idea...DG makes a really nice guard and is not too expensive. I've been meaning to get one myself. Hope this helps! Banshee~
Click Here buy the Banshee Super Flow Airbox Kit and prefilter. You get a 10% discount because your a bansheehq member. I have DG's fat series swingarm, chassis, and a-arm skids they can take a beating but the chassis skid is very hard to put on and the a-arm skid doesnt fit perfect Edited July 21, 2004 by Banshee~

ledofthezep
Also, what about that Toomey "2 in 1" kit that replaces the stock air box and connects to the stock carbs? One of the best investments I've made to date, my K&N clamp ons are now sitting in the toolbox. With the UNI filter, I just use dish soap to clean it, then re-oil & install it. It's a sinch to clean in comparison to the clamp-on filters. K&N makes a cleaning solution specifically for their filters, you can buy it in a kit that comes with new oil also. philshee
O.K. fikrst off Never use gas as a parts cleaner. If you need to use a solvent, use paint thinner, it does a good job, and doesn't have the vapors that could get you killed, or burn your house down. As far as the filter, I have the K&N in the air box, using the Pro Design adaptor, which is a must, for an air tight fit. I also us the outerwear to keep the larger stuff off of the main filter. I also use the K&N cleaner, just wash it off with water , and K&N oil. The combination works very good.
racer
diesel works damn good too. it's a very stable fuel (hence the 18:1 compression ratio's) and hard to set fire to after its been sitting out more than an hour or so. and it smells so damn good hey led would you be interested in gettin rid of them clamp-ons?
