d3xnij
i hear most people saying 4 strokers suck etc... but why shudnt i get the yfz450 ? yeah i love my shee.. but i cant get the engine work done here where i live.. ( scotland ) so its pretty much stock apart from pipes, shipping is also a killer... so if my shee with pipes was to race a yfz450 with a cam mod and sand tires, what wuld come out ontop ? i realy love my shee but engine work costs to much as id have to ship half my engine to the states.. customs etc all charge for this and id be left with a huge ass bill to pay, thats why im looking for somthing fast stock.. tell me what u think. thanks
.
I'd keep the shee for a little while longer and let them work out all the bugs of the yfz.....its definitely a good quad though
Maverick302
Nothings wrong with 4 strokes, they can just never match the thrill of a shee. The 450 comes pretty close though, it's a great quad. Like the . said, keep ur shee till they fix the inevitable first-year problems.
d3xnij
the 05 models are out now anyway.. only thing i see changed is the swing arm
roosthrower
the bad thing about the 450 is that it wastes 2 strokes too many, yamaha didn't put the yz250 motor in the yfz450 frame, and it aint got no expansion chamber. I am a tad biased though.

stclark04
the only problem i have with my 450 is that the seat is about a 1/4 inch thick.. not very comfy. other than that i love it, but ill never like it more than the banshee. if someone told me that i had to get rid of the banshee and i had to get something else, a 450 would be it.. ness
I went to a dealer this last weekend and sat on both the Yamaha 450 and the Honda 450. Honda fit me better and seat was comfortable. Nothing wrong with the Yamaha 450 I'd get one, but I already have a Banshee. I like old school, and where I ride I've never seen a 450 so I get to smoke a lot of new school z400's. Meat
I hear the '05 YFZ's are coming with a 6 pack of new batteries and a fire extinguisher. They've got major charging problems, the battery will overcharge and all sorts of electrical problems caused by the overcharging. Not too much of a problem for trail riding and just messin around, but once you start racin' em, you better stock up on spare batteries.... and remember to "stop, drop and roll" if you catch your ass on fire.
