iceman
Things in this thread could get hot pretty quick, and I don't mean sexy hot... I'll start my own shit right here right now...You guys are retarded...hah...heh...ok. 1. Jetting FAQs are EVERY FUCKING WHERE. It's re goddamn diculous how many FAQs are out there. 2. Come on now a goat...thats just a bit brutal. I can understand a dog but a goat...they make milk for healthy people. 3. It's a scientific fact that Tequila is good for rough goat sex. So I'm sure it wasn't too bad. I read it on the internet...or Ducman's mom's journal. There you guys are even...sort of.
Rickycali23
ok?????????? who. i guess you what. your carbs when. when ever you get a chance where. hopefully your garage..so you dont have to pay a mechanic 150 buck to do it why. to put bigger main jets and adjusted needles to fit the situation that fits you(many factors)

Maverick302
I'm just going to make this simple...a jet is a hollow needle in the carb that flows air or fuel into the engine as a mixture. If you modify ur banshee with soemthing that will affect airflow (ex..filter, pipes, etc...) It will allow more air into the engine but the same amount of fuel, therefore causing a lean condition. If you put larger jets in more fuel can flow through therefore even the mixture out. STOICHIOMETRIC is about 14.7 parts of air to one part fuel, but peak performance is attained at around 12.5:1, although that can be dangerous because of detonation, preignition, etc.... If you followed what I just said (I didn't so don't worry...I blabber alot) then you should be set to go, but for a longer explanation benbb's jetting faq link is above. P.S. - Why can't someone manufacture a fuel pressure regulator/ pump setup to eliminate most jetting problems? I gaurantee they'd make money and also take some of the fear out of modding a quad, especially if your lazy and/or don't have a downtime quad. I gaurantee they'd make money and also take some of the fear out of modding a quad, especially if your lazy and/or don't have a downtime quad. They do, its called fuel injection. The carb can't presuized the fuel in the bowl or it would just run into/flood the cylinder with fuel without the motor even running. That's why the floats in the bowl shut off the flow of fuel into the bowl when it is full. You can put an inline fuel pump in front of a carb but it is only to fill the bowl with fuel faster. Fuel siting in the carb bowl is drawn into the carb by the air passing over the pilot and main jet via the venturi effect. The needle is not a jet, it is a means of limiting the fuel that can flow through the main jet when the throttle is from 0 to 3/4 open. That is why it is part of the jetting circut, but it is not a jet that flows fuel.
