J-Madd
I was going to advance my timing, but couldn't get my flywheel off. I couldn't find my Clymers and forgot about the special flywheel puller needed. I used a gear puller from an auto parts store. I tightened the puller down with a pipe wrench until it bent!! I also chipped a tiny piece off of the outer rim of the flywheel. Will this throw it out of balance enough to screw it up??
BdBanshee
Most likely you ruined your flywheel. Never use any puller except the thread in style. Live and learn, find a good one on Ebay that has been pulled correctly and you'll be back in business.
MotulMonsta
Your lucky...I fucked up my crank using a gear puller.
DirtRider
try and sell it on ebay. of course saying that you worped it. and get a ne wone. or you could put it on your refigerator as a magnet to hold your Red Sox season schedual. boonman
Throw it away, kick yourself in the ass, and then get a new flywheel. I would be worried about it being out of balance. I would worry about it being warped to all hell. As BD said, NEVER use a gear type puller, or a jaw type puller. nater006
try and sell it on ebay. of course saying that you worped it. Sellers like that are what the rest of us hate. At least be a good enough person to understand it is 100% a piece of junk, don't try to disguise what it is with clever wording, and throw it away. People trying to make a quick buck by clever wording can rot... Edited July 15, 2004 by nater006

I also have some 30mm PWKs to put on this weekend, but looks like I won't be ridin'...can't get a new flywheel overnight. thanks everyone Edited July 15, 2004 by J-Madd
J-Madd
I just ordered a flywheel and puller from Ricky Stator overnight delivery. I hope I didn't ruin my crank. What are my best options if I did? Definitely not buying OEM..may even buy another banshee. I don't like the thought of paying for and installing a crank.. J-Madd
FYI: I had to weld the puller to the stock flywheel...I stripped the threads out of the flywheel puller..what a piece of crap. I'm about to advance my timing and put my pwk 30s on.
