racer Posted July 14, 2004 Report Share Posted July 14, 2004 the other day i cruising (actually hauling ass) and i came to a corner where i was slowing down to turn. as i was still about 20 yards away one of my neighbors (whos a safety freak, wont even kids play in the front lawn) makes the same turn as i am but going in the lane. im guessing she wasnt expecting me, cause she cut the corner so sharp into the left turn her tire nearly rubbed the curb. i smashed the brakes nearly to the point of a full lock up and stopped like 3 feet short of her drivers door. but now to the point. if i had hit her, like t-boned her, would she have gotten in any trouble? i realize im on an illegal vehicle but she was clearly in my lane. what do you think would happen? nater006 Posted July 14, 2004 Report Share Posted July 14, 2004 (edited) Ouch. My educated guess would be that you'd be entirely at fault in the legal aspect. The entire argument on her side would be that you should have never been there in the first place, due to your vehicle. Its a little different when you're on something that is meant for the street but not street legal, and something that is 100% not supposed to be on the streets, with no exception. Guessing that she'd be in the right, legally, despite that she would obviously be the fault of the crash.. PyRo_ZaCh Posted July 15, 2004 Report Share Posted July 15, 2004 I'm careful since i was screwin around once and had a close call with a parked car while on a friends quad (dont ask. . . ). any way not to long ago my friend on his wariror got hit, only a few cuts brusies and a sprained wrist or sometin like that. It was a hit and run, while my friend was laying there (concious, watching, starting to get up) he saw the guy get out check his bumper and take off, quad got messed up pretty bad, dented rim (which i have now) bent frame and messed up front end. any way he got a good desc of the truck and called the cops. they told him that he just confessed to being on the road and all so he could either take the fines and all and they would put a search out, but other wise he could just let it go unless he got the trucks liscens plate and knew who it was for sure ect. . . story told by him I only got too see the damage done and some skid marks on the road Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
