roosthrower
f*ck four strokes. refuse to support the 4 stroke revolution. put an aftermarket front end on the banshee and save 5 to 6 thousand over buying a yfz. I am ashamed of some of you.

SICK BOY
I love my Banshee, and would never want a 4 stroke. Then I ride that 450 and I have to say I'm impressed. The power is crazy and it handles great in the air.The only thing I didn't care for was the seat.I do think the yfz450 will be my next quad. BansheeJen
Well I bought into the YFZ hype too. I purchased one about 2 weeks ago and have been on 3 rides so far. I still have the banshee though so I figure the best of both worlds. I love the banshee for pure riding excitement nothing tops it. But in tight woods running XC the handling characteristics between the two are night and day. The torque on the YFZ is like driving an old school big block car, all the torque is fantastic. They both have their places, and each shines in its own environment.

Nighty
450 == the new and improved banshee. in germany they even call them 450 banshee. treehugers and goverment says: no more 2 strokes yamaha says FOOK.. yamaha takes 500cc 2 stroke engine out of yfz500 (the initial replacment of the banshee we all would have wanted) and place's some racy 450cc 4 stroke engine in the same frame... then call it yfz450 and done. 4 stroke banshee. its new it handles fine, has torque has power .. you name it.. but it aint no 2 stroke.. sooo it sucks sure i'd like a 450 besides my banshee, but i cant afford all that... and i WONT drop my banshee. Nighty
oh almost forgot this: This is for all you BANSHEE 450 owners out here: Good Yfz450 page I found this site for all my 450 riding mates since i felt so sorry for them buying a 10K machine (over here) and still not beeing able to keep up with a crappy old 5K banshee. its a good site. also has lost of step by step video's on howto do the cam mod. (locogato) i personally havent seen a whopping improvement over stock. it revs a tiny wee bit faster .. but noticably higher. def NOT a 10hp again, even after good jetting. 450 stroker information is also availeble on the site. I havent read it all but going on what i have seen on the site its not really worth the $$$ well.. go see for yaself.. it's good.

locogato11283
hey locogato how does your 500 run against your 450? my bro in law has a 450 piped, cammed and jetted they are pretty dang fast well they are totally different. the power actually comes on the same and neither have a whole lot of top end. they are both really torquey. the 500 will rip your arms off tho, the 450 isnt quite so bad. in a drag the 500 will stomp it out of the hole with the 450 comin back on top. the 500 isgeared really low. jstaguy24
Yeah ive only rode mine in the sand but racing up Sand Mountain I can outrun the 450 by 6-8 bike lenghts. Im going to do some more porting this winter and probably add some nos. Got beat by a few banshees on easter so I need some more power lol
