low end or mid

Recommended Posts

ok im looking for new pipes for my stock 03. before you think that im asking the "which pipes are best for me" question, ive already searched though this website and i know im gonna need low to mid range pipes like mabey gnarlys. the question is can i get it without any major mods and without sacrificing that awsome top end. or do the pipes boost it overall just not as much at the top end. also how much affect will reed spacers have on low end with pipes sorry for long read

low end pipes are not top end pipes, a low end pipe will diminish your top end... if you want to keep your top end then your going to have to get a midrange to top end pipe. it sounds like you want some decent low and good mids, so an all-around pipe is what you need.

FMF Fatties

FMF SSTs

Paul Turner Mids

Pro Circuits

those come to mind.

The gnarlies are great pipes IMO, They Increase bottom and mid power with AT LEAST stock like top end (I think maybe a little more on top, but I have other mods). I wouldn't worry about reed spacers, I would just upgrade the air filter setup, If you havent already, and run the gnarlies. I have the gnarlies, K&N, 3 degree advance key, 145psi head, TDR reeds, and I went up one tooth on the countershaft sprocket, Runs Fantastic. My .02

You have stock pipes now right? Any duel pipe setup will give you more top end than stock and generally more power throughout the entire RPM range. The low to mid range pipes like will add more power on the bottom end and mid and fair amount on top. 2 into 1 pipes will add a lot on the botom with a similar top end to the stock pipes. Some high rev pipes may cause a bit of loss on the low end over stock (not much) but will add a lot on the top end.
