Prelim look of site. Give me your opinion

Recommended Posts

I got finished with the frames on the site last night. I don't have any of the links going yet, but i'm almost finished. So, hopefully I can get everything over to the server where it should be soon and be up and operating. I just put this up to see how the frames came out.

More or less, this is the feel of how it'll navigate and the title. Let me know what you think of the header, is it goofy or does it look alright?

Redish Performance test page.

Later fellas.

Just looking back, only thing that's weird is the word "trucks" with a pic of a Jeep, may need to change that around or something, maybe change the word trucks.

Maybe some opinions on that as well.

Lookin good but you need a crazy flash intro to start people off. And you need to make sure to stock lots o xj stuff so i can find out where to get it ;)

Yeah, i'm still working on getting more suppliers, especially in the Jeep area. I'm all about XJ's, so I'll see what I can do.

And the flash thing, a little over my head. Maybe someone can get freaky around here with their flash. :rolleyes:

Frames in general are OK but a cleaner and more modern look would be to use SSI (Server-side includes). There's a whole section on w3schools.com about it if you aren't familiar with it. All the pages I worked on, the doods in charge didn't want the frames look but did want the ease of updating a single .htm/.html doc for the menu bar and having it be updated on all the pages. SSI makes it possible... just frame-less. Just my $.02 from my web dev life :) your page does look good tho!

ive mad a few sites, one of the things people love, is when you keep the top and side bar stationary. that way its way easier to scroll instead of hitting back all the time idk if yours does that, shoulda checked it out. but besides that, looks stellar

yeah, the top and side stay stationary. that's one reason I really like frames. One of my favorite places to shop is similar to how I set up mine, and that's one reason I like to shop there so much, easy to get around without clicking back all the time. I'll check that SSI shit out.

i've seen you use "idk" a bunch and have never know WTF you were talking about, but never said anything. But I just figured it out, that drove me nuts not know what the hell it meant, but I finally got it.

{Sigh of relief}

just saw this on the w3schools site (which i'm sure you've all seen):

Download the internet here.
