DevilDriver Posted July 9, 2004 Report Share Posted July 9, 2004 got a 2002 Banshee, top end is bored .040 over stock with a set of Vitos forged super stock pistons. the airbox lid has been modified by cutting off the snorkel back to even with the edge of the lid itself. so now its an open oval. also it has 6 7/16" holes drilled in the baffle on the inside of the lid spaced evenly. other then those mods the bike is stock. stock air filter, stock exhaust etc. i know i should have upgraded but the top end was not n expected repair and money is tight. i will be doing a full exhaust and air filter and be re-jetting again but for now the nly mods are the bore and pistons, and the airbox lid. elevation is about 300-500ft above sea level. my stock jets in the carbs now are 200 would i be looking at about a 220 now? also do the new jets need to be the short stubby ones? or can i use the longer type/ just asking because a friend has the longer from rejetting his trx250r. thanks in advance for the help guys. i wanna rip this pig this weekend after a good break in Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
zilladude Posted July 9, 2004 Report Share Posted July 9, 2004 (edited) You will need to get jets for a Mikuni carb, the jets that your friend has are probably for a Kiehin. They are not interchangeable!!! First thing that I would do is get rid of the stock filter & get a billet adaptor & use a K&N with an outerware or a foam filter setup from ProDesign. with either of them you can safely remove your airbox lid. Was the airbox modded before or after the rebuild? If before try the 220-230 if after 230 -240. If you decide to get a different filter setup, I have a complete ProDesign proflow set with the adaptor. It is the 2 stage foam filter. I am asking $45, including shipping. When you get your exhaust on, bump it up to between 290 and 310 and remember to run plug checks, now and after your exhaust addition.
