roosthrower
And i was just fixing to start doing some work to banshee's I wouldn't send cylinders to someone that polishes the intakes. You can fool all the blaster owners, but us banshee riders will stick to real motor builders.

RAS928
the 2 stroke outlaw did is way more than one thinks. first it will be atv, then chainsaws, weedeaters, jet ski blah blah. i would like to see a 4 stroke chainsaw. bet it would be heavy. the ban isnt on 2 strokes, its on emissions. diesels are affected and many 2 stroke jet skis and snowmobiles have less emissions because of efi and other technology
mavguy
Ya emissions arn't the bad thing. its the lack of interest in 2-stoke technology by the manufacturers. THEY COULD MAKE a clean oil mixer, by using existing tech. (korean scooters feature oil injection, im not sure how it works but it's different than a blaster system. I "THINK" it involves spaying oil onto moving parts instead of putting it in the gas. Makes for a more efficent burn.) IF yamaha upgraded the banshee a little, maybe make a " Banshee 2 " and leave the original alone. Update the tires, plastic, carb, motor, change the cc's maybe a 400?, make it more relaible and a few other cosmetic things, they could call it the "YFZ400R T-Rex" and then drop the price of a new original shee. All they would have to do to sell all those Banshee 2's would be to make it apealable to the average dumbass quad buyer (Raptor/Z-400 owners). I never want to see the day when you can no-longer buy a 2-stroke quad thats why i am such an ass to 4-suckers.
MULLET~BOY
heh two stroke technolgy is getting so far advanced its not funny and yes the companys do care about 2 strokes look at the new snow mobils coming out efi and shit and look at the yamaha 125 they put a whole new motor in it its a crazy lil thing too hopfully will make the races fair again the 250 thumpers had to much of a edge sadly enough though there isn't much of a market for 2 stroke quad you all think so but really thats not what the masses want they want a bike where they can jump on it and go no mixing no jetting for the most part the masses want a yfz so were just gona have to deal with it
MILO
i thought that yamaha will still be making banshee's, just not available for sale in the states due to the emissions standards here.
Yaxy
Two stroke technology is not dead, just not in the interest of all manufacturers. Take Yamaha snowmobiles for example. A year or so ago they took the motor out of the R1 motorcyle and put it into a snowmobile with about 145 hp. Nice but guess what even though it is a 4-stroke it did not meet 2006 emissions. Now take Bombardier (maker of Ski-doo snowmobiles) they have a new 2-stroke technology out called (SDI) that meets emissions until 2010. So while Yamaha spends time with 4-stroke technology other manufacturers are putting R&D into there 2-strokes. But I am afraid the 450 is the banshee replacement. trail rider
I was reading and it looks like the last set of production banshee's will come across the ocean December 31, 2005. With the new emissions taking effect in 2006 they will no longer make the banshee. They said that they should have enough to take them all the way through 2006 and part of 2007 then once they are all sold that will be it. What do you guys think of that?? I knew the time would come sooner or later. Will you still be able to buy a banshee, like at the dealer, after 2006 ? I really hope so cause I graduate from high school in the summer of 05' and I should have a good job by then and enough money to buy me a new banshee. streetshee
dont know,i think itl depend if the dealers got any left,i think theyl all be bought by enthusiasts and locked away untill there worth a fortune,my boss has stored 5 shees all road registered (last month was the end of 2 strokes on the roads over here,i mean new registrations on the street)if uve got a shee that was or is registered then its ok,but no new regs allowed now.they will be worth double in 5 years here.
