2k4_Shee
I am ordering a new air box /filter set-up real soon but i am new to modifying and new to 2 strokes all together. I know there are a shitload of different makes and models so what works the best 2 into 1 set-up, k&N with no lid, Powerlid, etc... lets hear what u recommend
locogato11283
try a search. i know there are some posts on this in a couple other forums. try "powerlid" and "k and n". you should be able to find all kinds of stuff on this. we also need to know what type of riding you are gonna do, other mods and all that shit. 2k4_Shee
I live in georgia and i ride mostly trails, hills, and open field, seeing as little mud as i possibly can... As far as mods im sitting bone stock as of right now but i am going to start with new air set up, pipes, reeds, jets, sprocket change, and when i have to rebuild my topend i will go back port work, etc. Edited July 3, 2004 by 2k4_Shee

BansheeJerry
I agree with 0044. Thats the setup I run. I have an outterwear and hogged out the top of my airbox lid as well.If you dont ride in any lakes or ponds going without the airbox lid will be ok. I ride with alot of 4x4s and frequently ride in mud-water completely submerging the engine and alot of times up to the headlights so I absolutely have to have the airbox lid. I have had to drain the airbox on quite a few occasions as well.Basically dude it all depends on how you plan to ride. A hogged out lid isnt that much more restriction than running without one. Ditch the snorkle though.
banshee0044
yea ditch the snorkel...and a few holes in the lid dont hurt..my banshee came with a vented box and lid...but i jsut ran a stock box with the vented lid cause i tend to get wet sometimes
2k4_Shee
i dont take it mudding or water skiing, i just would like to know which set-up i can see the best gains with..
FadedDreams
I would go with the Pro Design plate and either the foam or K&N filter, its up to you.i'm not to sure about the PowerLid thing, maybe if it was cheaper it might be worth it.If your not gonna be mudding just leave the lid off and save the money for other mods. MotulMonsta
Pro flow adapter w/ stock box using pro flow filter...best of the best. Can't get ant better. K&N's will suck dirt..It's a proven fact. Foam filters are proven to be better air filters.
