Castor927

Recommended Posts

I'm not a big fan of castor 927. I couldn't get my bike to run right on it, it's a bit expensive and it seperates from the fuel too fast. It does smell good though...A little thin for my liking too. I still have a bottle around here somewheres..it's like 4 years old.

it lubes well but it does separate in the cold............shake yer bike before you turn on the gas, turn your gas off before you kill your bike

I used to run it until it started plugingup my pipes (FMF Fatties) with carbon, afer 3 trips I had more carbon build up than 4 years of yamalube, I could not get the bike to run properly with the stock carbs after the 12-port though so it may have been part of the problem, but have since switched to MC1, just dump it in and your mixed for 5 gallons...no problems so far. 927 will protect your motor but it can be anoying sometimes IMO, like when your trying to scrape the build up off your pipes...

I take it, no one here runs on alchy.

You can put castor in an aclhy tank but i wouldnt recommend it. It seperates too quickly and it doesnt mix well at all.

Klotz is 20% Castor. Blenda with alchy and methenol. Just depends if u want a well lubricated engine or not.

Since the oil in my gas is the only thing lubricating my engine, i dont mess around with retarded oil brands. I get the best. Plus I run 20:1. It's rich but not too rich to wear I have to clear the plugs all the time. PLus I'd rather have fouled plugs than a top-end to rebuild. ~Ryan

In my experience running 927 at 40:1, it has been extremely clean burning and has left way less carbon residue than when I used to run Yama 2R at 32:1. Silencers are always dry with very little soot build-up unlike the 2R which would get a bit oily at times If I was just cruising around and not running it very hard.
