FadedDreams
I have the chance to pick up a Tecate 3 wheeler 2 stroke for next to nothing. It comes with an extra motor, not sure what shapes its in yet.And a few other parts extra. The only parts that it needs to run is a mageto, and maybe s throttle cable. Not really sure on the condition of it yet,but for the price it doesn't matter. It could make a good winter project.I would like to hear anyones input on them, good or bad. demon340
id jump on that deal. the old two stroke 3 wheelers are sick and awsome to rip around on. cant really jump or go nuts on em but they are cool to ride.

FadedDreams
Yea,i'll find out more tomorrow hopefully. When you rebuild one of these, don't you have to get the cylinder replated. The way i understand,it runs, but not very good without a new magento.I used to have a 185s about 10 years ago and i loved that thing,i couldn't imagine something like this.I've heard they have awesome power. MULLET~BOY
you only have to get the cylinder replated if the plating is fucked up but that dousn't happen that offten you can usaly just get it honed and throw a new pistions in it
jnatali4200
is it an 84-85 tecate 3 or an 86-87 tecate 3? the 84-85 are ugly as hell and i THINK the motors are diffrent. but the 86-87 tecate 3 and the 87-88 tecate 4 all have the same motors...please correct me if i am wrong...thanks
nater006
87-88 were the Tecate4 ones. Used to have an 87. They are fast as heck, till the powervalve sticks open with carbon.. inevitable. Then you can dump in a KX250 powervalve and wooooooooo does it fly even more... The suspension geometry leaves something to be desired. The T3s were pretty spiffy too though. Fast machines.
