Recommended Posts

My shee just pours gas from the overflow on the carb when the gas is turned on.. What the hell woke up to see my 10 dollar amsoil and 100 ocatne gas flowing on my floor into the drains.. I fogot to turn the gas off last night sure, but even if you turn the gas on to ride it flows out everywhere should i clamp up the overflow or what??

Don't clamp off the overflows. That would just cause the fuel to flood

into your crankcase. You probably have a piece of dirt holding your

float valve open. Disassemble the carbs and clean them w/carb cleaner

and compressed air. Adjust the float and or replace the needle and seat if necessary.

Just wondering why you posted one problem in the Repair/Mods then came over to Gen Dis. to post the new problem?? You said new question, but most people would think it'd be in the Repairs/Mods like it should be.

Just wondering... :shootself:

O yeah sry its not in the repair thread forgot to switch back to it, but Lucky me to have a peice of dirt get in my carbs, then on the other hand sure i can take them off but ill never get them back on.. When i take them off to clean them does that involve taking off the thottle cables?? Hope me shee dosnt have to sit in the shop now for days and anyway i dont have any money to fix it, I guess ill see what i can do tomarow but if i do tomarow might be that last day my banshee has carbs becuase i dont no what the hell im doin, also there stock ones could that be a reason they like to stick wide open sometimes when i just warm it up in the morning?? Yes, remove the throttle caps and pull the whole slide assembly and set it aside, with the cables attached. Then turn off the gas and remove the carbs from the boots.

definitely sounds like you need a good carb cleaning...

He just means since you have fuel droppping and sittting into that little dip on the motor, it wouldn't take much to set it afire, especially if your a smoker.

Later & good luck.

You can get a spray can of carb/choke cleaner at any auto parts, walmart, and other similar stores. There are tons of different brands, but all should work about the same. Some people just use gas, but I like having the spray pressure to get into places.

What I ment about the BOMB was, if you had fuel leaking into your floor drain, you will have a bunch of gas sitting in the p-trap. One spark and BOOM! Just flush a bunch of water down it and you will be fine.

I get this problem every time I refill empty carbs, I just smack them with a screwdriver handle multiple times and go for a ride usualy that frees them up...Otherwise it's just a few screws to take off the bottem of the carbs to clean them out, no throttle cable removal necessary, just detach from airbox and manifold, and it's the 4 screws in the bottem....every easy fix jsut a pin in the ass ;). or with cerain carbs you an just rotat them to open up the bottem, but good luck doing that with the stock ones!
