roosthrower
When I tore apart my shee to put in some new seals, I noticed that my stator was already modified. It doesn't look like you could get much of a timing advance out of it. How much do you think you could get out of a stock stator? It really looks like you could only get a few at the most. BdBanshee
I modify them to +5 degrees all the time, here is a pic:
sredish
How much do you think you could get out of a stock stator? FYI and not to be an ass but.... that's called a timing plate. The stator is the deal that bolts on to that with all the wires and plastic wrapping. I'm just saying this to educate, not be a know-it-all. roosthrower
I modify them to +5 degrees all the time, here is a pic: thats about how mine looks. so I guess mine is about a plus 4 or 5. sredish no offense taken. stator is the only thing that popped in my mind when I started this post even though I know that the stator is the round thing behind the flywheel. DirtRider
so you mill counter clock wise, and then when you put it on you turn it clock wise and tighten it down?
BenBB
Thanks BdBanshee! I'll get it on there tomorrow...
sredish
so you mill counter clock wise, and then when you put it on you turn it clock wise and tighten it down? yep, 1mm = 1 degree of timing change
BdBanshee
so you mill counter clock wise, and then when you put it on you turn it clock wise and tighten it down? That's correct. Don't forget to reset the gap between the pulse coil and flywheel.
